Frick all y'all for taking shots at the D. The suburbs here are as nice as anywhere else and probably have more money than maybe ten big cities.
Dan Gilbert may be a weirdo and LeBron's beyotch, but he owns like 1/4 of the real estate in Detroit, so he can do whatever he wants IMO. I would prefer a team in the suburbs, but everyone seems to want teams downtown these days.

Well I'm glad we have Detroit. It brings down the state's tourism standards so there aren't quite as many fudgies during the summer.

Moving sports teams to the downtown is the new first step to fighting urban decline.
As far as a team working there, it'd do just okay. Support comes from the state more than the city proper, which is why putting the stadium downtown isn't a terrific idea.
