That has way more to do with the salary cap.
not being a destination league, and lack of youth development play a huge role.

It can absolutely improve the quality if the new owner is willing to put up the money. With all the different roster rules, etc., adding teams really doesn't spread out the talent that much. To use Atlanta as an example, since I'm familiar with them, the only players currently on the team that were with another MLS club are Parkhurt, Larentowicz, Ambrose, Kann, and Kratz (was with Philly but didn't play) from year one, and Nagbe and Zizzo from year two. Larentowicz's club didn't want to keep him. Columbus brought in a foreigner to replace Parkhurst, SKC had a surplus of GKs, no one cared about losing Ambrose, Kratz, and Zizzo, and were likely replaced by young players. Atlanta paid a decent price for Nagbe. I think they took a few more guys in year one, but many of them were released after last season, never to be heard of again. All the while they brought in guys like Garza, Guzan, Almiron, Martinez, LGP, etc. and becoming one of the best teams in the league by using very few guys that were already in the league. Now, Cincinatti could just sign their entire USL team and call it a day and that would dilute the league, but that would be more on the team itself more than expansion.
Not every team is as lucky to have owners like ATL and LAFC.
just look at Minny since they came into the league. They look like a USL side with some MLS players sprinkled in.
Some of the owners still use the teams as tax write offs and have no real intention to invest.

They were forced to start 2 years earlier than they planned. They are getting better.

And old Highschool buddy loves this, he will go from FC Stl goalie coach to ST.Louis FC goalie coach. Scott Gallagher will still be a big influence on the new franchise.
From SIUE Goalie coach to STLFC goalie coach, to MLS goalie coach. Nice gig for him.

Great news. MLS soccer resolution has been approved by the Board of Aldermen HUDZ Committee. Thanks to @PresReed, @JoeRoddy, @MLS4theLou.
St. Louis is a soccer town. We play it. We watch it. And now we have another shot to score a soccer stadium & @MLS team. #mls4thelou"
Another step checked off the list. 8-0 vote. Moving even closer to landing a team.
Full board votes on Friday(most likely to be delayed). If it passes there we pretty much have an MLS team

As a former employee of the Taylor Empire, I can undoubtedly say this man is filthy rich. That’s a huge backing, financially, to get a new club in StL.

As a Nashville SC fan we need more clubs west of the Mississippi River to keep us in the east.

you're welcome fam.
Although we can easily play in the east too.
But im sure we'll be in the west so our neighbors arent lonely.

I think after Nashville and Miami enter in 2020 someone has to go west. I hope that team is Chicago which makes sense with SKC and Minnesota nearby.
