Yeah, they are pretty hideous. It´s not like other product is leaps and bounds above them. Most all new boots have been grotesque the past four years or so.

Check out the logotype near the top of the tongue (just below the uppermost exterior eyelet). Looks like Adidas may be toying with a Messi brand idea, ala Air Jordan.

Would've been better with just one big sun on the opposite side of the triple stripe.

I don't see why they haven't gone ahead with it by now

The Messi logo is simple enough, but those suns are hideous...

I've seen the logo before, but they done seem to be on his own shoe... It's just added to an existing model...

Best case scenario:

1. Barcelona ends up with Adidas for their jersey supplier, and Adidas rolls out a Messi-branded Barcelona jersey.

2. Messi's line includes a pair of polka dotted cleats.

Both Nike and Adidas have logos for their bigger players, but I don't think they'll be stand alone brands like Air Jordan, rather just a brand accompaniment:

Neymar:

Ronaldo:

Messi:

Ronaldinho (oldie):

I think Adidas will test the waters with Messi, I really do.

Do you think it will expand beyond cleats, into casual shoe wear? I mean part of what made Jordan's line iconic, is the huge impact on fashion...

They are already doing it w/ CR7, so why not Messi too?

I was specifically talking about shoes... but I didnt know about his fashion line... I guess what I'm saying is that you could buy and every day wear the shoes that MJ plied his trade in... Not so much other sports...

All that other stuff just looks like Nike gear, I cant even see a CRON logo...

CR7 comes off as more marketable to me. Don't get me wrong, a Messi line would sell like wildfire.
