I don't respect people who latch on to the ManU/Barca type clubs in their teens/20's, simple as that

I will even give you a pass since you have actually spent your money to go to England and attend a ManU match and if you were like 7 years old and started following them because you liked David Beckham and have stuck with them ever since i'll let that slide too but in general you shouldn't have a hard time understanding why I would
@ someone who just "decided" to pull for europe's biggest club.

10 years ago you could have said that was liverpool
there are other clubs you could say are bigger who have had more domestic and european success. United just did an amazing job of marketing their brand.

I already said I lump Barca/Real/Munich into the same group.

Whew, I just made it into your accepted age limit. I was nine when I became a fan of United.
Once again, we're all sorry the club you picked had a sucky year and you've played the martyr fan card very well.
No one is taking up arms with you, pal. We'll celebrate our title and a win in the greatest English football manager of all-time's final home match, and you can pleasure yourself to the thought of your team just narrowly avoiding relegation.

it would be different it United went out and spent absurd amount of money like them or chelsea, city and liverpool to an extent. Liverpools buys just have not panned out but hopefully that changes a strong Liverpool is good for english football.

You people still just don't get it. It's not about the wins and losses that makes me a Newcastle fan. That's my whole point

As a club I have a lot of respect for ManU. Much much much moreso than I do Chealski or City. I don't really root against ManU all that much. That's not what this is about at all which should be clear.

Then what makes you a Newcastle fan? Because it sounds like you are worried about others being bandwagoners that you picked a club that no one could assume that about you.

Then what is your problem with United fans?

The spirt of that city, the club and the supporters, the fact that they are arguably the most hardcore fans in england and they remind me of LSU fans.

If that were the case I would have just picked a top club that wasn't always winning like Arsenal or Spurs or something. I picked Newcastle because those people and that club represent most to me what I love about sports.
