City's U18's absolutely ran circles around United's in the first half, but only lead 1-0.

Lol whomever United's GK is, he just ran out to try and stop a long ball over the top and just absolutely whiffs and just forearm shivers the City striker to the face. An actual clothesline. Was incredible.

Got a red card obviously.

Most years id put more stock into it, but the youth set up is under a complete overhaul and our u18's were bad last year due to not having enough players and playing a bunch of 15 year olds. Also the 18's just got a new coach.

Doesn't help City pay youth players like 5-10k a week

I'd assume this reigns true for many EDS sides, but several of City's better players who qualify for the U-18's don't even play with them. They play up with the U-23's, Brahim Diaz in particular.

City wins 2-0.

Yea our u21 league winning team as mostly kids who could have played U-18. Our issue was we were not bringing in enough kids the last few years from the ages to 8 to 16. While City has been loading up with kids local or abroad. City paying for the kids to basically go to an elite boarding school is a huge sell for parents. It just sucks most of the local kids get pushed out once the 16 or older kids start coming in from Europe.

We can't compete with the wages being paid to the City kids.

By EDS that's just what I refer to as City's youth sides. I know that isn't technically what they are actually called over there.

I think City's U-18 side is actually called just the academy team and the U-21's (which I got wrong previously I think) are actually the EDS.

And yeah, apparently the so-called 'Golden Generation' is compiled in those sides now. Guess we'll see how many actually make it

Maybe one or two

thing is you can still have a good youth set up like City and not produce first team players due to the culture at the club.

Eventually the kids will produce for someone else. Even if they have to take a pay cut

Has Gundogan played yet for City or is this his debut? He changes the entire dynamic for this team if he stays healthy.
