I don't live in England, so I didn't know he did hair commercials. People don't know who Joe Hart is in America.

I don't know what his reputation is amongst English fans, I'm just going by what I see on TV. It's not that hard to spot a douche.

The Liga Adelante’s regular season reached one of the most dramatic conclusions in recent memory on Sunday evening. In the end it is Sporting de Gijón who join Real Betis in directly gaining promotion back to the Liga BBVA, on a day full of strange coincidences and brusque turnarounds when all had seemed decided.

Girona and Sporting started the final weekend of action on 81 and 79 points respectively. The Catalans requiring a win at home, the Asturians needed to beat the champions of the division Betis away and hope that Girona would draw or lose to a Lugo side who had absolutely nothing to play for.

Fran Sandaza put Girona ahead just before half-time and it looked as though Pablo Machín were on course to gain promotion to the top flight for the first time in history – even though Sporting had put three past Betis at the Villamarín. Four minutes of stoppage time was added in Girona and within seconds, Pablo Nicolás Caballero had pulled Lugo level. With the clock ticking down and into the last minute, Florian Lejeune headed past Dani Mallo and the Montilivi errupted – but the goal was disallowed, correctly, for offside. In the ensuing melee, the linesman was hit with a bottle of water from the stands. Full-time was blown and it looked like Sporting would be returning to the top division and Girona in the Play-Offs. Both sets of players were already getting changed and showered when referee Sánchez Martínez ordered to the two sides back out onto the pitch to play an additional 40 seconds of stoppage time with the stadium now half-emptied out. The locals couldn’t redeem themselves and it ended 1-1. They will meet Zaragoza in this week’s Play-Offs. Sporting meanwhile return to the top flight precisely three days to the day of the death of their former coach Manolo Preciado.

At the other end of the table, Osasuna are safe after Javier Flaño’s last-gasp equaliser at Sabadell put them one point from the drop zone. That meant Racing’s 1-0 win at Albacete wasn’t enough; the Cantabrians join Recreativo, Sabadell and Barcelona B in the Second Division B next term.

Directly promoted to the Liga BBVA: Betis and Sporting.

Play-Offs for promotion to the Liga BBVA: Valladolid vs Las Palmas (Wednesday 20:00 and Saturday 20:00 CEST); Zaragoza vs Girona (Thursday 20:00 and Sunday 17:00 CEST)

Relegated to the Second Division B: Barça B, Sabadell, Recreativo and Racing.
