If he gets past him in typical Lukaku fashion he boots the ball 10 yards in front of him and it is a goal scoring opportunity.

If he boots it ten yards in front Bellerin is there.

The rulebook says "a player shall be sent off if he denies an obvious goalscoring opportunity by holding an opponent". Nothing to do with being last man if its that far out.

Is there any appeals process or is Pogba gonna definitively be out vs City

Man U didn’t just concede possession, they conceded golden opportunity after golden opportunity after golden opportunity.

Let’s see how well the brilliant tactical masterclass works next week against city

There is an appeal process. It won't be overturned, it was pretty clear on video.

Most refs determine last man taking out someone when your the last man as denying a scoring chance.

It could have been called but it wasn't, but it wasn't

playing what ifs is stupid

wow dude what game did you watch

the first half United came out firing and then went up 2-0 resulting in sitting back and giving possession playing to hit them on the counter.

Maybe you dont understand basic tactics.

I completely disagree lol.

You lot created 3-4 chances and were just much more clinical. Arsenal were by far the better team today but didn’t finish.

Like someone else said, there is an appeal process, but he stomped him on the back of his knee with one foot and Bellerin’s ankle with his left foot.

Zero chance it is overturned.

It's only one part of the equation. Distance from goal and proximity of other defenders are also big factors.

when you go up 2-0 away from home there is no need to keep pressing.

Yeah relying on defenders to make elementary mistakes passing out of the back and your goalie to save 7 point blank shots and the ref to miss 3 clear penalties is basic tactics.

We’ve seen numerous times what happens when Mourinho’s horseshoe finally leaves his arse. Enjoy it while it’s there

And like I said, there has been only one red card I can remember being given in situations like that, that far from goal. Refs are hesitant to give the red in that situation.

Also Man U didn't come out to play on the counter. They took advantage of two opportunities where the ball was won off the high press, a much different thing than the counter. The amount of goalmouth chances Arsenal had, especially before the third goal, was surprising, especially for a Mourinho team. De Gea played out of his mind.

I’m wondering if Pogba will get an additional ban for his clapping after the card.

Neymar has been suspended additionally for the same thing.

Dude went from a badass in my book to a complete c*nt in like 5 hours.
