dude can play anywhere in the middle of the field. while he's primarily a DM/distributor, when everton is down they line him up as a target man. Man U can attest to his ability to aid in attack when called upon

while i don't see him playing CB often, i have no doubt that he would excel in that role if asked to play there

he's only 24, and i can't wait for him to move on from Everton and go to a big club. i'm hoping (obviously) that he moves on to Real or Man City. imagine a toure/fellaini or alonso/fellani pairing in the back of the midfield

I like Fellaini a lot. He can be a card machine at times though. But, that is needed sometimes. Don't know if he would ever be at a club like Real though.

I don't know enough about some of the other leagues, but i would probably say Arteta. Not one call up for Spain even in an easy qualifier. Been beyond solid for both Everton and Arsenal.

ETA: Fellaini was a beast against ManU.

No. I dont think so. He was Everton's record signing and they have been a top 10 side every season since. When he signed his new contract this year several players including the captain came out and said how important it was for Everton and what a big influence Fellaini is on and off the field.

As for on the field, he's like most good EPL players he goes through good and bad form. He's played very well as of late but there have been a few seasons where has had great patches and dominated in the air. A few years ago he was used as an auxiliary forward and did very well and scored quite a few goals. He has wonderful ball control most of the team and is great in both boxes.

When he's not playing so well he can give the ball away too easily, pick up way too many fouls and cards and get passed by too easily in the midfield. I don't think he was at his best for the first half of the season (was he injured?) but that seems to be the case for Everton every year. They're a second half of the season team, they always finish strongly.

I appreciate him very much in my FIFA 12 campaign with Everton. He and Chelsea man Ramires are the core of a solid defense starting at defensive midfield...when we crank the pressure up, Fellaini becomes a huge distributor in the final third.

But, then again, this isn't real life.

How so? I clearly stated that it wasn't real life.

Ugh...ok...I'll answer the "real" question. No, I don't think Fellaini is the most underappreciated player in soccer, because most of the Everton fans I know appreciate him a freaking good bit, and his teammates do as well.

I wasn't unhappy, just expect a little more than a video game reference from you.

First thing that popped into my head when I thought of Fellaini. That and those eyebrows.

I really like Fellaini. He has great technique for someone his size, which allows him to play basically anywhere. Also this. LINK
