It was always destined to get ugly. He's done it before, he'll do it again until he makes his way to Madrid, Chelsea, City or PSG.

At this point in time, I wouldn't believe a word of what he says. It has been lie after lie for months out of his mouth.

yeah. to me, it makes sense that there was some discussion about being able to leave if no CL, maybe even to the point of a promise, but from a legal background, it's tough shite if that isn't in the contract.

certainly doesn't look good for BR and the club to have top players calling you a liar and disloyal though. that bridge is fricking burnt to the ground. going to be interesting to see how he reacts to staying

He's a competitor. He'll play hard. It may be for himself, but he will play hard.

He is is not "hurting" BR nor Liverpool with his claims. Suarez has little credibility. Almost to the man the media and pundits are all calling Suarez out for for this drama filled want-away nonsense.

I know you have an angle with your comments because of your allegiance but it's very hyperbolic honestly. No one is buying that narrative.

Well Edison cavani is. I know he's Uruguayan so he has a bias as well but he's a top player calling Liverpool out for being disloyal and dishonest. No matter what the circumstances that's certainly not good news for a club

The parts dont equal the whole.

The early off season it was about the English media etc diving Luis out of the EPL. Now the narrative has change to this "promise". If Cavani is hitching his integrity to the morphed narrative because Luis is his buddy, well, that's his problem and looks bad on him quite frankly.

The whole football world sees this for what what it is. The only folks who don't are Luis' friends and agents and some folks in North London.

Yea I agree for the most part. If you are a fan of any club not named Arsenal you don't believe a word of what Suarez is saying.

Very, very different circumstances. Unfair to judge them on the same plane.

Exactly right on this one. However, for the past year, switch that with Liverpool fans and you'll also have a true statement. Suarez is teaching a good lesson to fans of all sports. Treat everyone as if they are full of shite and play for themselves more than their team. You won't get disappointed as much.

yeah, I take everything Suarez says with the coarsest grain of sand possible, but I also do the same with BR and the club.

and to go back to my earlier point about the tension between player and manager, I tended to side with you, Beast, at first, but as things have progressed I'm really curious to see how it plays out. this is like Tevez's saga on steroids except that Liverpool need Suarez and can't really afford to waste that much scrilla on a reserve player. even though he's a competitor, there sure might be some strong lingering psychological effects there. this is a pretty unique test case for standing up to player power. could be an important moment in the game.

My take on the whole thing is... I believe Luis believes what he is saying in regards to the contract and that Pere assured him he has a buyout... wrongfully so, obviously. I can't account for what verbal promises were made, but I imagine it was somewhere's along the line of "we'll see at the end of the season, I know you want to play in CL" Obviously all speculation on my part... But I don't believe he just fabricated it out of mid air..

I also think when he played for us he gave his all and generally loves the club and supporters, but not to the same level of loyalty as a Carra or Stevie... why should he, he's South American...

Carra is right... As of today, he is too good for LFC, and should be playing on the biggest stage... But, thats not at Arsenal...

I think he will come back in the fold and if he plays hard, stays clean and bangs in the goals... I think we may be looking to get him out of here in January... RM is thin at striker and they may need him come January... He wont be cup tied, so it could be a great situation for us to get full value for him...

Yea, you're right. I wish more clubs would do this. Players have too much power in the modern game. It sucks because it just continues to separate the rich from the poor.
