I have a feeling, if Real are interested, he'll go for below £40m.

#YNWA Pepe!!

Glad he is reunited with Rafa... I have been a closet fan of theirs the past couple of years and I will keep on following them now!!

He may. We have considerably less leverage with Madrid than Arsenal. I think we can hold out for £40m unless Suarez gets impatient and hands in a transfer request. Ancelotti knows he needs a 9, and he knows Benzema is nowhere near Suarez in terms of quality

I just want shite to be done with and as far as I'm concerned I don't like how long this has gone on to begin with because who are we left with to try and replace him with.

IMO not really anybody, at least that I know of ... and we know that Aspas isn't it and neither is Borini.

This is why us losing HMkh hurt so bad, he was a sure fire person to slot into his vacant place.

i've seen a lot of people suggest Suarez doesn't particularly fit the mold of Ancelotti's preferred number 9. maybe that's spurring the Ibra rumors. should know soon though. they sure seem to be focused on Bale and Sid Lowe has implied they can't afford both.

damn, what a crazy arse transfer window this has been. craziest ever?

I mean, I've watched every one of Suarez's touches for the better part of the last 3 years. I just don't see a system where he doesn't fit. He's just so complete as a player, and is about as dynamic as you can get. Arguably his best asset is the tactical flexibility he brings to a club.

When you consider the managerial changes as well..yea it probably is.

Having only been an avid follower of soccer and Liverpool for a few years now, I have a question about transfer requests for you knowledgable fellows.

If Suarez hands in a transfer request, could we just ignore it? Do we just run the risk of having an unhappy/unmotivated player in the squad? Surely his drive and competitiveness would probably come through and I couldn't see him loafing on the field on purpose. Could he just refuse to play even though he's under contract?

On a hopeful side note; I recently played a season on FIFA, Suarez wanted a transfer, I paid no attention to it, and he went on to win the the golden boot and the league and everything was peachy.

Typically a player is sold if he hands in a transfer request. I guess LFC could just ignore it, but protocol suggests it is better to move on the player rather than keeping a cancer in the locker room. If a player hands in a transfer request, he is essentially saying he no longer wants to play for his club. It would be poor of LFC to make him keep playing, and I don't think the other guys in the locker room would want to play alongside him.

I agree. If the guy doesn't want to be here, then it's probably best for everyone for him to move along. Just curious.

I'd also really hate to lose such a talented player to another club competing for one of the top 4 spots though.

the best part is that they didn't even bother to remove the "Applebee's" in the bottom right corner.

I don't know what system he is planning to run at Madrid? But, I remember after Luis' 1st 1/2 season with us, 'Arry said Tottenham didnt bid for him, because he didnt think he could lead the line... followed with, I was wrong..

I think what makes Suarez most effective is when he is allowed a free role... when the team is built around him (kinda why Cavani takes a back seat for Uruguay). He wouldnt get that at Barca, RM, Bayern, etc. I have a feeling Arsene will probably allow him this freedom, given the £ he will be shelling out...

Reading we are looking at Luis Muriel...

Sell Suarez... bring in him and 2 (CE?) others with the £ and I would be happy. Assuming FSG invest some of their own on players too...

edit: I know this wont be a popular opinion, but I would try and bring Pato back from Brazil. If he stays healthy, he is world class... has all the tools. And could possibly be bought for >£20mm (Corinthians paid under £13mm)

Eh, Pato is a waste of cash. His best days are behind him, unfortunately.

I disagree, I think his muscular problems can be addressed... Now lighting a fire under him is a different story... You never know in the right situation. He is only 23 yrs. old... He scored 51 in 117 games at Milan, his only problem was injuries.

people said the same about Van Persie and he over came that. Many think his problems were that he was asked to put on too much muscle so fast, so young...

Anyway, doesnt really matter since I dont believe we will go after him...

Muriel is a much more real possibility... I'd love to see us tempt Roma with a nice offer for Lamela, but I think we will opt to spread the funds around..
