He can do whatever he wants, there's only one England captain.

Not disagreeing with the suspension length, seems fair.
But UEFA/FIFA/FA have got to drop the kick racism out campaign if players are only getting 8 and 4 game suspensions. Makes the whole campaign seem a farce.

You serious? He just got a 4 game ban and a fine of almost $400,000 for nothing. Suarez lost a fifth of his season. If anything they are WAY overdoing it.

Ah. I agree, but probably for different reasons than the ones you have.

If a fan racially abuses a player at a match they are banned for life. What I am saying is there is clear double standard and it hurts the campaign.

What I am saying is the fact that there was even a inquiry, much less a trial/suspension/fine, for a nothing incident is ridiculous. If this is the kind of ridiculousness that is going to result from the campaign then yes do drop it.
*and yes the Suarez deal was ridiculous too.

But with both the Suarez and Terry cases there was no hard evidence. Just hearsay. You cant be throwing around lifetime bands on players just because another player accuses them.

Good points, I agree you cant ban someone for something said in the heat of a violent game. Now Suarez "might" have crossed the line with Evra.

I want to know what they talked about for four fricking days? he already admitted he said it...
I still think it should be more in line with Suarez's ban, but I dont really care at this point...

"Should we suspend him?"
"But he's the english captain!"
"I know but he said this"
"Anyone that says that should be suspended!"
"So should we suspend him?"
"But he's the..."
etc

I'm of the opinion that what gets said on the field to another player needs to stay there. The Suarez ban and fine was ridiculous as is Terry's case. An outburst in the heat of a match is not the same as burning a cross in someone's yard. I can't imagine what white players in the NFL and NBA hear in a game.

I don't disagree... especially without proof.
However, atleast in the Suarez case, I dont want to relive that...

I agree. The real racism problem in football isn't between players, but radical fans.
Why do you need to punish a guy for doing something that only two or three players heard? I wonder how many more "racist" things are said week in and week out, but don't get reported because the players involved know that it is a heat of the moment thing.
If someone called me a racial slur on the field, I'd shrug it off. Who cares what the other guy thinks of me or my skin color? Concentrate on what happens on the field.
Yeah, Terry is held to a higher standard because he's the captain of the national team...but let's not act like he's the only one who does this stuff. No telling what is all said in a given match.
I'm just tired of all this.

The British guys in the podcast I listened to ripped Chelsea fans for thinking "there's only one English captain." It was pretty awesome

Also, if he doesn't appeal he will miss:
Arsenal
Norwich
Tottenham
Manchester United

Which is why he should appeal.
