If You Ran a Training Academy in the US....

what kind of players would you develop? I don't mean answers like "make the whole team better except goalie."
The point of my question is: historically what position have we always been weak at? Not just the position but what style of player would you have out there.
A playmaking CAM?
A pacey winger who can cut in and score?
A defender?
A target man?
If you could only have one.
