Too early to jump to conclusions, but I think it is clear by now that we lack a true goal scorer who can rise above CONCACAF bullshite and deliver on a consistent basis even with the opposition trying to drag the match through the mud.

This is less of a coaching problem than a talent problem. We've got a lot of talent on the team, obviously, but not at striker. The problem will continue to dog us, IMO.

Could Berhalter change tactics to create chances without a deadly striker? I think he has more or less done that. Seems like most of our attack is running through a combination of Pulisic, McKennie, and Reyna these days, when those guys are on the field together they are a lot to handle.

Beyond that, not sure what Berhalter can do. Its not like he can just sign up a guy like Erling Haaland for dual citizenship.

Reminds me of threads in pels talk after 4-5 games when it’s obvious we suck and everyone makes absurd and flimsy excuses.

there are guys so sure that pels get a playoff series.
1. lots of new guys. it will probably not be a smooth start to season.
2. to compete in a playin or playoff there must already be significant improvements by nearly all the young ones. and by ingram on D.
it's so unlikely it's going to be easy to rationalize later.
