History of the World Cup Ball

Saw this in my travel through the internet. Pretty interesting to see how the evolution of the ball in the past 45 years. Korea really changed the look of the ball from the previous 28 years.
More importantly, it's interesting that Adidas has managed to hold onto the contract for the soccer ball. You'd think Nike or even Under Armour is going after the business. Anyone know how long the contract is between Fifa and Adidas?

UA has been trying to break into soccer for years now with basically zero success. I don't think they make balls anyways.
Nike didn't truly break into soccer until the 90's, although they are competing with Adidas now for the market share.

I'm curious as to what the next couple of balls will look like. Adidas seems to base the design on the festive nature of the host country and neither Russia nor Qatar (assuming we don't get it) is particularly known for their frivolities.
If we wind up hosting 2022, then you bet that it'd be a lot cooler than the "Questra"
