Sad to say, but this site has eroded my unquestioning trust of police to conduct themselves professionally. I am no longer shocked at the depths to which police officers will sink to to avoid accountability...

What the Sun headline should read tomorrow...

Truth hurts
imagine you are a surviving family member and the police have been assailing your loved one's character all these years...

Think about that Randy. And who it is coming from. Seriously why come and start shite up about such a subject.
TH BHoy has been following me from board to board being a bitch for awhile now so I couldn't give two shits about what he has to say.
Also, GTFO with the "troll" shite. I clearly stated that the police obviously screwed up big time, I don't think anybody has ever really doubted that. However, they didn't just funnel the fans into the pens for no reason. They were trying to relieve a crush in the main turnstiles and made the ultimately fatal error to open the extra gate. I also stated that the coverup and lack of accountability makes the situation that much worse.
All I'm saying is that it's incredibly naive to act like fan behavior played no part in this. That's all I'm saying and I'm sorry if you can't accept that.
The truly unfortunate thing is that it's pretty likely most of the ones who lost their lives had nothing to do with anything that was going on behind them.

That was mostly just a general statement to anyone that did or that tried to get upset about anything I said.

the blame is on the people who actually caused the crush
Alright it was the LFC fans fault. You happy now? Go spread shite on some other thread.
When the friggin Tory PM accepts that the Tories and the Coppers led the cover up I take that as a pretty true.
The fact that the side gate was opened was the fans' fault. The fact that all the fans' were led to the same pen by the cops was obviously the fans fault. The fact that the cops didn't close the gates on that pen when it got above capacity and lead the fans' to the other pens was the fans' fault. The fact that the cops looked at the stands and saw what was happening and did nothing was obviously again the fans' fault. The fact that they saw the fans spill over and did nothing to help and actually tried to push them back was the fans' fault. The fact that the ambulances and emergency crews were not allowed into the stadium was of course the fans fault. The fact that the coroner picked an arbitrary time and conveniently decided no one could have survived after that had to be the fans' fault. The fact that fans' who tried to help by tearing down hoardings and making them into stretchers were accused of robbing the dead, pissing on them etc was again the fans' fault.
The fans arrived en masse because the trains and buses arrived late not because they were drunk. A large mass of fans arrived at once. Even if all of them were drunk (a fact that is contested by many who say there were a few who had had alcohol but most didn't, many were waiting to celebrate after Liverpool won) it is the cops' job to make decisions to ensure the safety of everyone. They made huge mistakes and caused the death of all these people and then commenced on a massive cover up.
Heysel had nothing to do with Hillsborough. Reading can do wonders. Heysel was hooliganism on both sides and bad stadium design. Hillsborough was criminal negligence of duty, atrocious planning and passing the buck. You can troll all you want but leave some topics alone.
ETA: Saw your rejoinder later but all my points stand.

Reading through a lot of this again and it kills me to hear Trevor Hicks story and losing his 15 and 19 yr old daughters... This part is brutal...

“The hurt I suffered that day was so extreme I can’t be hurt any more.”

You think it's just a total coincidence Liverpool fans were involved in two of the worst European sport tragedies in history just a few years apart?
This is exactly the type of ignorance that made it so easy for the police and the media to lie and defame the character of so many innocent Liverpool supporters for so long. To even introduce the Heysel disaster into this discussion indicates that you completely lack the capability to comprehend what happened at Hillsborough. The two events were as isolated and different as they could possibly be. The Heysel disaster was a result of a clash between Juventus and Liverpool supporters who never should've been allowed to be seated adjacent to one another. There were perpetrators on both sides of the conflict and blame should be placed on all parties involved. Hillsborough could not be more different in literally every single regard. It was the perfect storm of traffic delays, poor planning from the host stadium, awful policing both inside and outside the grounds, and an unforgivable response from police and first responders. To attempt to draw parallels between the two disasters is insulting on an embarrassing level.

Randall, the fact is the panel cleared the fans of ANY wrong doing... yet you have to stick in that one little jab to be you...

Thanks smart arse. It took me a while to refresh hence my ETA. I am not on this page refreshing it 24x7. That was not a rant, I meant to say everything that I said. GTFO with your ignorant trolling.
And if you took my advice, instead of trying to tell me what to do, and really tried to comprehend what I just wrote; you would have understood your errors in comprehension and not come back with a smart arse reply. Alas some people are incorregible.

FOLLOWING today’s Independent Panel Report Rangers Football Club would like to send its support to the families who lost loved ones and everyone affected by the Hillsborough Disaster on April 15, 1989.
Rangers Chief Executive Charles Green said: “On this significant day our thoughts are with the families of the 96 people who lost their lives, the survivors and the Liverpool supporters.
“It is completely unimaginable that 96 people could attend a football match and never return home and I know the Rangers family feel the same following the loss of 66 Rangers supporters who lost their lives in the 1971 Ibrox Disaster.
“Rangers and Liverpool fans have a strong bond as they have united to commemorate the tragedies that have sadly marked the history of both clubs.
"We hope the independent report released today will help to bring some level of comfort now the truth about what happened that terrible day 23 years ago is known.”

"The Liverpool Fans were not the cause of the disaster" - David Cameron
Listen to this anyone who still wishes to stay willfully ignorant and resort to uncouth jabs at the truly wronged.
"The narrative about hooliganism on that day was created"....
"Today's report is black and white"....
"The panel has quite simply found no evidence in support of allegations of exceptional levels of drunkenness ticketlessnes or violence amongst Liverpool fans. No evidence that fans had conspired to arrive late at the stadium and no evidence that they stole from the dead and the dying."

As the somewhat recent father of a little girl that is really an unfathomable scenario for me to imagine.
