We already knew this but it's out there officially now. He'll be playing in England within 2 years, maybe a year. If he continues to improve (or even if he stays the same), an American owner will gladly overpay for him. BVB knows that and the extension was to get mo $$$

Borussia Dortmund are delighted that Christian Pulisic has decided to sign a contract extension at the Westfalenstadion amid interest from Premier League.
Pulisic, 18, on Monday signed a one-year contract extension at Borussia Dortmund on Monday, and is now tied to the Bundesliga side until 2020.
"That's a big success for us," BVB CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke said on kicker.tv.
In recent months, the U.S. international had been strongly linked with Liverpool, although Dortmund ruled out a potential sale in late 2016 of the winger who joined in early 2015 and has made a total of 31 competitive appearances so far.
Speaking on kicker.tv on Monday, Dortmund CEO Watzke said he was happy to have beaten Premier League clubs to Pulisic's signature for now.
"Half of Premier League is owned by Americans, and they could all imagine [to sign him] with the U.S. market and because he's an outstanding player," Watzke said.
"He's only 18 years, he's swift as an arrow, has a great will. We have now extended his contract. That's a big success for us."

I don't think so. He loves Dortmund, gets playing time, and is seen as a future star there. He knows Dortmund has been great for his development and growth, so saying he will jump ship for the premier league, when he hasn't even completed and an entire season as a first teamer with Dortmund, is a little naive.

I'd say it's more naive to not consider the possibility (probability) of an American Premier League owner paying more for him than he's worth. Dortmund are famous for these kinds of deals.

If he leaves Borussia, he should go to Sevilla.

I know you're kidding, but he would wreck in Spain.
If the England thing does actually happen, I hope he can handle it. Not the soccer, but more in terms of all the stuff that's not on the field. He seems like the kind that doesn't let those things mess his head up, but you never know.

Would like to see him work with Pep

Sampaoli and a free wheeling type of play. Seville as a city is superior to most (probably all, depending on his mindset and needs) English destinations. Still has CL ball. Would learn A LOT (as he is now).

Not sure if I like the idea of Pulisic going to Spain, Dandy.
If Hachim Matsour can't make it at Malaga, not sure any young talent can survive in that league anymore.

The title of the article on the ESPN site was that phrase word for word.
Also, this bit that you left out..

Really? Because the headline when I click on it says...

I disagree. There are a number of teams in England where he'd have plenty of playing time under managers who excel at developing youth. And he'd triple his wage bill.
I think its a tall ask for him to leave this early, but I certainly wouldn't resort to calling it naive.

Which league do you trust to develop young talent and give them adequate playing time? For me it's the Bundesliga over the premier league.
Posted on 1/24/17 at 8:35 pm to cwil177
Whichever league has Poch, Wenger, Klopp, and Pep. And although neither are known particularly for developing young talent I'd say Howe and Conte are excellent managers who would teach Christian a lot. Although the former would be a much better atmosphere than the latter for obvious reasons.
Again, I'm not saying its a clearly better situation to come to England. But all this talk about it stifling his growth/being a lateral move is an exaggeration, in my opinion.
