In general, the AFCON is unwatchable. The only remotely interesting storyline was Zambia winning a few years ago, close the 20th anniversary of their team dying in a plane crash.

To be fair it's because there are really only like 3-4 good African teams at any one time. Quarters onwards the AFCON is decent.

It would be my luck to drop $10K (plus) on travel, lodging, tickets, spend hours in flight, dodge riots and criminals and floods - then spend the entire game I've waited my whole life to go to stuck behind these three assholes.

I'm sure it's been discussed by now, but how terrible was the Japanese goalkeeper on IC's second goal? Pitiful - beaten at the near post by a knee-high header from 8 yards out.

Bony was absolutely fricking terrible until Drogba came on.
Cote D'Ivoire completely changed once Drogba came on.
I was surprised at how toothless Japan looked.

ITV spent the entirety of pre-match, halftime, and post-match talking about England. frick, everyone who has ITV has fricking BBC.
