Not to be a downer, but it is hard to say this was all it could be without Tevez in the lineup for the land of the disappeared.

The sight of Charlie Davies just running towards him made Chad Marshall fall down last week. He's just not international quality.
Actually I think it's time to give El Gringo and Dax McCarty another chance. For that matter, I bet we see Sacha Stache on Wednesday as our playmaking midfielder. It's basically do or die for the player with the best WAG in our pool.

Marshall just isn't good enough for the international game. He's like guys like Califf and Parkhurst who can be very good MLS defenders but they are just too limited.
I think Goodson definitely has a case to be starting alongside Onyewu or DeMerit right now. Tim Ream is definitely the future at CB for the US though, atleast that seems to be the consensus. Hopefully younger guys like the Boss and Perry Kitchen will make the step up in the next few years.
