Now you´ve got your Champions...

—The two happiest moments of my career were signing with Madrid and la Décima. I feel fulfilled with this triumph, and now I can say I am a succesful footballer.

Big celebration...

—´Till 8 in the morning, when Bale dropped me off at home. Thought I was going to sleep, but there was a party at home (laughs). Family, friends, we all ended up jumping in the freezing cold pool. There I understood the dimension of this win.

The Champagne was flowing?

—Yes, but not a drop for me. I drank water like a camel. They say I ran 15 km, I was very dehydrated.

You´ve been to Cibeles twice this season.

—That´s why I came to Real Madrid! I was anxious to battle for titles. The emotions are fantastic. Madrid is a pressure cooker but when you win, it´s éxtasis. Champions was better than the Cup against Barça.

Now what?

—Real Madrid will be even better. La Décima was an obsession for the club and fans. I really felt an enormous pressure. Now, we´ll be more relaxed and lethal. The team is great, but with another signing, as is habitual, yet stronger. But I shouldn´t talk about that.

You were one of the protagonists this season.

—In the dressing room I looked at all these great players... I thought: “You´re part of this, ¡bravo!” Then I began to sing. Good thing you didn´t hear me (laughs)!

Ancelotti was euphoric

—I´ve never seen him that happy. He was under a lot of pressure... the trainer always has more. In this match he showed why he´s one of the best in the world. His second half changes revolutionized the match. It´s not luck that he has three Champions as manager and two as a player. Not only a great manager, but a great man, and I am honored to play for him.

You´re one of his favorites. You play all the time, even when tired.

—(Laughs) Yeah, that´s my ´little punishment´. I didn´t go to PSG when he wanted me there. Before the game we were talking about just that, and he said that I promised him I´d go to PSG, but when Madrid appeared, I didn´t think twice, I flew there (laughs again). I said: “Sir, I knew you´d come, so I went on a reconaissance mission to get adapted and better play once you arrived”.

Was this part of Ancelotti´s calming pre-match strategy?

—Yes. Ancelotti made the day to day in the club very relaxed. An absolute dominion of the pressure. He instilled confidence in us, took the edge and pressure off, and we had great chemistry in the locker room.

What´s your take on the Final?

—El Atlético is a great side, but we earned this victory. It´s difficult to lose the final with only a minute to go. But, we had opportunities earlier. Once we drew level, I knew we´d pull it out. It was very difficult, but that´s why this victory tastes so good. Absolutely everybody who´s been in this club has said it, this match will be remembered for the next 50 years, not simply because it´s la Décima, but also because of how we won
