nderstand, only options were to let Robben’s goal stand or re-kick. Ball stayed in play

Thats just ridiculous though -in the end Bayern got 3 excellent shots at a goal off of one extremely soft PK.

The first PK
Robben's follow through (in the box too early)
Second PK

If the player entering the box too early is an attacking player and the first one to touch it, it should become a goal kick. That should be common sense.

A goal kick is what I thought the result would be as well...another patron at Finn’s who refs explained it the way I laid out.

Still think there is room for a loophole with Arjen’s offside-ness. It won’t affect the original PK if it goes in, and if it doesn’t and you’re offside when you hit the rebound, the original PK is a re-do...

Bob wouldn’t have ever missed that second chance kick

If the initial shot goes in, then the ref can still disallow the goal and call for a re-kick for encroachment.

And you can't really be offside on a penalty kick since you have to behind the ball.
