There should be a ton of talent in that north Texas area. Also, Houston should have a good academy as well with all the talent in that area.

I agree. However, I've scoured the past year on most of the US Soccer calls up for the teams. Not that many Houston. Surprisingly. I'm not saying they don't have a good academy bc I honestly don't know. I just think they should too.

I wonder if a lot of Houston area kids are more inclined to lean toward Mexico. I played a lot of Texas teams when I was younger and Houston and Dallas had the most talented teams. Once the MLS comes into the south, there will be a lot more southern talent being plucked.

Those guys beat Barcelona's academy a couple of months back.

Source? I'd love to read about this. Too bad their progress won't ever be able to keep up with the progress of the kids at la masia.

Also UA, great list so far. Thanks for starting this thread up.

ETA: I added those Generation Adidas players although a bit older to the "Notable" post underneath the "U-" teams.

I added the Generation Adidas Roster, Milk Cup Roster, World Cup Roster, CONCACAF Championship roster and some friendlies. All of them are pretty recent.

The only thing that could be mixed up is position bc they get moved around a bit.

I don't know whether to do a separate thread about the olympic team for next year or to just do it in this thread. There's a lot of overlap, obviously.

Salgado and Kiesewetter

quote:

The U-18 #USMNT has taken a 1-0 lead! Salgado finished a beautiful cross from Villareal with a header into the far post!

quote:

Kiesewetter makes it 2-0 in stoppage time! He finished a low cross from Luis Gil to give the U-18 #USMNT some breathing room

quote:

Starting XI: Cropper; Okwuonu, Zimmerman, Gallego, Ocegueda; McCrary, Villareal, Packwood; Kiesewetter, Salgado, Ambrose

ETA: I added Jose Villareal to the list. He was a late entry to the Milk Cup Roster.

Gyau didn't play for the US during the last tournament bc of an injury. Him and Lletget both had minor injuries.

Thanks for Charles Renken, I forgot about him ! I have some guys fall thru the cracks

The rosters and pool info came from USSoccer.com.

The Milk Cup stuff came from their twitter and facebook.

Also, some of the other stuff came from the USSoccer_YNT twitter account. I THINK that is the handle.

The charcoal jerseys are nothing new. The US men's team used to wear them, but I thought they had been completely retired. I used to have one but I think my ex gf has it
