Have the first 2 day period as a waiver based on worst to first order. 1 pick will be chosen in this manner each week, and then the second 2 day period will be pure free agency.
Not a fan of a system that rewards shitty performance. The waiver order should be rolling if you do traditional waivers (over FAAB or no waivers).

It doesn't reward shitty performance, it evens the playing field. If, for example, BPG is wrecking shite (which he won't

and it's only 1 guaranteed pick a week per team.. not a big deal.
+ it helps bottom dwellers stay more interested.. not that I think we'll have many quitters in these leagues but if somebody is getting absolutely blown out they'll probably stop caring.
Also Parity = why things are fun, this promotes parity.

quote:I agree. I don't like the idea of someone losing a bench player and then getting the first pick of a really good incoming player while the rest of us don't have a shot at him. A random free agency pick order or even one done by order of points scored seems a little more fair.
I think we should allow Red, and anyone else who lost players, to pick who they want. Other than that, we should randomly pick a free agency order that flips every week to choose who gets the other incoming players/other available players.

Are we awarding points for minutes played? If not the back line players aren't going to score very often.

by order of points scored
Is my vote for sure

I'm not sure about which league has which and whatnot.. but I commonly see 60 min played for defenders = 1 point.

I like random. I'm a random type of guy

Yeah, I'd prefer random as well. I'm just not sure that WSE wants to do a random drawing every week, but I guess he could do them ahead of time.

Yeah, it does. Like in Mario Kart, you have an incentive to start the race slow and get to the first item blocks last, so you can rape the field when you get lightning or a star.

Use your FAAB strategically and make trades. I am in favor of making this as "skill-based" as possible. This system of waivers is "luck-based".

I've always liked first come, first serve. Any type of order that takes away from the people who are paying attention and watching every game isn't cool.

How the hell is whomever clan click submit at 12:00 the fastest getting the player rewarding them for skill? And if you're in first already with your "skill" why are you worried about the last place guy getting a good player?

I'm against first-come, first-serve. I don't have a life but one could be thrust upon me at any moment. I like how NFL fantasy leagues do it. You can say you want a guy but if someone higher in the order wants him, then you lose out on him. That may be hard to facilitate in a league that's done on a message board, though.

And if 7/10 people watched the games and want the same player, how does your system choose who gets him? Fastest Internet at the deadline?

Yeah, I also suggested that. We simply do away with any form of waivers. Also, it will eliminate the need to email the commish each week. It will make the leagues much simpler to run.
In my novellas about adding players, I suggested we should eliminate waivers (what you like), since we do not have a host site.

Yeah gmo, at first I thought it was a bit much, until I remembered that defenders can get negative points for being scored on and that 1 point disappears real quick lol

That is why I support FAAB > reverse standing waivers. A budget is skill-based and it has no bias going up and down the table. Also, there is a smaller chance of human error by the commish, which could happen in your system.

What does FAAB stand for?

I think it's a type of car or insurance
