I'm thinking about going with a Torino one and battle Juve for city supremacy in the long term... a kind of "noisy neighbor" situation like the one in Manchester, just without the skyrocketing budget. I can see the Ajax one getting stale in league play.

ETA: I wish we could have a fraction of the depth Football Manager has in FIFA. I could never get fully into Football Manager because I like controlling the players too much. Also, since I work on my computer during the day, I don't necessarily want to stay on it during my free time.

I like Torino, but their board demands for Year 1 are insane, basically the same as Inter, Milan, Fiorentina...

With my Vazquez haul, I can afford Bernardeschi or Sergio Rico, but I'm not sure if I should do it, as that's not too realistic.

I say I like Torino, but they keep fricking low balling me for Stefano Sorrentino. He's 77 overall, but I'm only asking 1 million since he's 36. Torino won't budge off 925k.

Decided against this. No way realistically Bernardeschi or Rico would leave Fiorentina or Sevilla for Palermo.

I bought this Zlatan card last night.

LINK

Changing my Serie A squad to a Serie A/ Ligue 1 hybrid. If I can sell everyone I have listed on the transfer market, then my team will look like this tonight

Played two games at lunch and Zlatan had 4 goals. One from 25 yards went into the top corner and Lloris didn't even move

Per my recent form however, I gave up an equalizer in the 89' of the first game, and a match winner in the 90th in the second. I'm probably about to get relegated to division 4, haven't won a match in like my last 7 games. Both games today were played in the rain which just fricks me silly with the way I play

I can't understand why I'm so streaky. last night I decided frick it I'm going 4-4-2 and playing Tiki taka until I'm blue in the face.

won 6 games in a row, averaging just under 4 goals a game, conceding less than 1. flash forward, I lose 4 games in a row, stay in division 6, and lose my first 2 games of the new season. 12 year olds will cry scripting, which I have my doubts that it even exists in H2H, I just can't figure out my issue.

it feels like after a winning streak my finishing gets throttled across the board. I feel like I almost have to pass it into a gaping cage to score

Well I was playing with scrubs at CAM and RM, not that that's an excuse

I don't have the Di Maria card yet, and I put the Pogba card up for sale before I stumbled across the Zlatan card and decided to overhaul my squad. 3rd time I put him up for sale because I wanted to buy his blue card and of course someone finally buys him when I decide to hold onto him.

As far as being streaky, I can't help but think it's partially scripted. Between the definition of a foul changing from game to game, a woefully errant pass, stealing the ball outside the 18 only for their striker to take it immediately off your foot and be through on goal, Per Mertesacker hawking down Lacazette and muscling him off the ball, and botched finishing. Rarely do I finish a season in fut with an even record. It's either wins and draws with a loss or two, or its losses and draws with a win or two. I've conceded 4 or 5 goals in the last 6 or 7 games in the 89th and 90th which makes me want to break my Xbox.

Several times in the last few days I've beaten the shite out of someone and lost

same here. funny you brought up Lacazette, I love playing the diamond with him up top and Valbuena or Fekir feeding him constantly. but I had one last night where it was like 63-37 and I had 17 SOG, no goals. I hit more posts than he took shots and lost 1-0

I love that the over the top through ball was basically mitigated in this game- I saw that so much with Doumbia and Auba last year. I've got 3 main gripes with the gameplay though (aside from the typical shite like slow CB's catching fast strikers)

Slide tackles are way too OP
Skill moves are way too OP
Clearing a corner is a minor miracle.

Being in perfect position to clear a corner in the box and having the opponent just wrap his neck around your defender to head it in infuriates me. Half the time when I'm in perfect position and actually head it away, my guy heads it right back out of bounds for another corner. The "call for support" on a corner kick is such bush league bullshite too. You can only get so close to the guy, so he has room to set up a dribble or skill move, if you miss the tackle at the side edge of the box then he's in the box with a defense not set up to defend, so it's easy to just dribble through traffic and tap it into the net. I can shut someone down for the most part playing organized defense, but I always concede shite goals like this. I basically just go balls out in the box now for the tackle because many times I've bumped into someone, without pressing the tackle button, and they hit the turf for the penalty.

And playing in the rain is fricking retarded. I exit the match at he countdown screen if it says rainy, but half the time I'm playing at the away stadium and it says clear, it's raining anyway. I probably win 10% of my matches in the rain.

Napoli sells Higuain back to Real Madrid in the first transfer window for a meager 23 million and then don't buy a replacement.

I've actually had the opposite experience with corners. other than the short layoff, ping pong around and shoot, I haven't conceded more than 10ish goals if imagine. conversely, I basically have no idea what to do with corners. I don't know what tactic is the strongest, nor if I can put after touch on the ball. it seems like any floater in a relatively decent scoring area is punched every time. I might not have scored 3 goals from corners in 50+ games. I'm just lost with them

one of the only goals I've scored was a bicycle kick from the top of the box. Griezmann I have no idea how I did it, nor have I done it since

I usually head in a corner once every 3-4 games but there's no rhyme or reason to it. I use every tactic except for edge of box run, and often won't use a tactic. Usually power up 2.5-3 bars and hope for the best. What gets me is that my guys line up differently everytime. If my CB is unmarked in the middle of the box when I go to take the corner, it's almost always going in, I can usually tell when it's kicked if it's about to get headed in. If I notice he isn't brining out his keeper to knock it away, I'll try to put the service closer to goal, which almost always results in a goal. If he's aggressive at coming out I'll try to put it at 12-15 yards and hope I can get a head to it. I'm decent at taking them, I just can't defend them for shite. Just head them out of bounds 5 times until he eventually gets his head to one

Try flicking the stick 2-3 times towards the top of the box and sending it in with 3-3 1/4 power and use crowd the keeper tactic. If the keeper comes out to punch and doesn't get it, it's usually going in. It's a tougher shot from an accuracy standpoint but I've headed in a few from 15 yards out on corners. If you have a guy with the power header trait, aim for them. Godin is one and they fricking smash it. Even guys with that trait and a bad header rating are good to aim at.

you're in a higher division than I am so I would imagine your opponents are more proficient with set pieces. usually I'll do the head it out of bounds 5 times until he does some stupid shite like float it into the midfield. counter, goal, rinse repeat. but I'm with ya. I've never liked the altering of the game camera for set pieces other than FK's inside 30 yards or so. it really throws me off on corners

thanks for the tip I'll definitely try it. I like playing with athletico every now and then so I'll look for him

eta: I've actually got my head to a few corners now, but the losing streak continues nonetheless

i just press out of bounds for another corner and hope they make a mistake

Just a friendly tip for career modera:

If you need depth scoring, get Michael de Leeuw from FC Groningen.

He's 74 overall and 28, so you can get him for cheap. He has no pace, but 82 finishing (highest of any silver), 88 header, and 83 stamina. Dude is a beast.

I've never played manager mode but decided to give it a try after seeing everyone else always talk about it.

I started with Arsenal who already had a huge transfer budget. I was able to sell off a lot of players for insane sums and build a stacked squad off the bat.

Sold Mertesacker to Bayern for $25 million
Sold Giroud to Barcelona for $35 million
Sold Ozil to PSG for $120 million

Bought Marquinhos for $30 million
Bale for $60 million
Isco for $45 million
Lacazette for $40 million

Next January window I sold Sanchez to Wolfsburg for $100 million and Lacazette to Bayern for $80 million.

I replaced Lacazette for Dybala for only $45 million and replaced Sanchez with Neymar for $120 million.

In two windows I essentially built a stacked team thanks to selling players at ridiculous prices. They're already walking the league with me simulating the majority of matches. I'm definitely going to try a lower tier team next without these crazy transfers.
