I've never used Promes that much in FIFA, but he's pretty bad arse with Spartak.

His dribbling and agility are ridiculous. He just slips by all these Eredivisie defenders.

If you out house rules on yourself in terms of assembling your team and get a good set of sliders it's a challenge

you know how meditation is just focusing on some irrelevant variable which opens up your mind to truly open up?

that's kind of how playing FIFA has become to me when i'm in the zone. it's pure subconscious. it's like the force takes over me

in Fifa 13 (i didn't play 14 or 15 b/c i boycotted how shitty the manager modes had become) i built teams all sorts of ways. i took the shittiest teams and built them with the academy only until they demanded a transfer and i had to sign immediate replacements

It's depressing all the cool stuff that was in manager mode back in like Fifa 08 or so that they just abandoned. Still it's basically the only game in town. PES's is worse and football manager, while awesome, just isn't quite the same for me.

whatever FIFA had the running budget was the GOAT

there was nothing more infuriating as a lower-level manager in FIFA 12-13 and you'd get a big bonus at the end of the year and you couldn't spend it. the transfer window was closed and if you had 3 scouts you had to gamble that if you fired one, you could get a good replacement

iirc, the version with the running budget (Which accounted for all wages, transfer fees, and maintenance) allowed you to invest in your club and build stadiums and shite so that you could generate revenue and you wouldn't be stuck with the board giving you $5M to win the league

the problem with that game was that the good players it created as youth players were 99 overall and mostly 99 ratings

i had over $1B in the bank with my primary franchise

What specific house rules do you use?

Picking your shirt sponsor was so sick. IIRC it was fake companies, if you added that in now with some of the real sponsors on the banner ads from the stadiums it would be so sweet. Doesn't seem too hard to pull off either

1) Only sign 2 YA players per year

2) Don't sign free agents

3) Only sign 1 player on a pre-contract every 2 years, and even then it must pass my "realism" test.

4)At the start of every season the first thing I do is re-sign players I intend to keep, this nerfs the starting transfer budget somewhat.

5) try to use realistic wage restrictions (example, no players at over 80k a week when I was at crystal palace

6) Leave your top 4 players open to be transferred (meaning you don't transfer list them but you don't mark them as not for transfer either), if a bigger club than yours comes in with an offer to buy you have to accept (limit this to one player per window)

Those are good rules. I hate, hate, hate a lot of the pre-contracts for huge players on this game. Like someone on here signed Pogba at Leicester in last year's game.
