Mertesacker is as proven as anyone in the world. Starting defender for the germans. Huge physical threat and dont forget he's about 6 foot 5

He is my second choice. Lugano is for sale, Mertesacker has said he wants to play in Germany this year. Lugano right now is my choice. Not worried about height, Lugano's ball skills and pace(even at 30)are much better. He fits Arsenal's style of play IMO.

understandable. i would be extremely happy to have either of them along side tv5 as long as its not squillaci then i think we have a better chance than last year. now all we need is a good attacking cm. Jadson has been a major talk but i want to see us go for someone else.
