From what I've seen, they may be small, but they look pretty good.

Why build an 80k seat stadium when it will be perpetually half-empty after the end of the tournament?

did they build any new ones for this tourny? that usually does not happen for the euros and its in countries that already have the infrastructure

Poland and Ukraine aren't third world states. They have plenty of infrastructure. They're not as developed as Western Europe, nor are they as clean politically. This tournament is not being hosted by Rwanda.

2058 World Cup bid already in place.

Poland is definitely NOT a third world country. Ukraine is another story. The stadia look fine to me. A seating capacity of 35,000-50,000 is perfect for football. Bigger isn't always better.

Ukraine is actually the most advanced of the former Soviet states.

Are they playing Dazed and Confused in the background?

That is faint praise, mate. I've been there and believe me with the exception of Kiev and a few cities in the west (Lviv) that country is a dilapidated mess. When you cross the border from Poland the decline in living standards is obvious. It is similar but not quite the same as going from the US to Mexico. But yes...compared to Belorus or Uzbekistan the Ukraine is paradise.

Yeah, wasn't saying Ukraine was some great shiny nation, but it's better than any of the -istans.

Neither country is third world you fricking moron. You don't need bigger stadiums due to the fact you will see empty seats unless the home team is playing or it's the final. You look at the last couple of EUROs, the average size is around 30k to 40k. Not to mention most countries are not the size of the Unites States where you have a vast amount of sports spectators and would need venues of larger size.
