I'm the same way.. I'm looking to pick an EPL team as well. I'm pretty excited about watching some good soccer, but I don't know much about the teams. Ive been hearing that Arsenal is a fun team to watch so I'm leaning toward them. I see there are alot of followers for them on this board. Does anyone have a link to a thread that kinda gives an overview of all the teams??? TIA

There are some good articles about it that were posted on here. One was about a Dallas radio host and the other was about Bill Simmons. Simmons gives a pretty decent of each team.

Do you want a team that can win the Premier League?

If yes, then pick Man U, Chelsea, Arsenal (contrary to what their fans say), Liverpool, Man City, or maybe Tottenham (really, really outside shot).

Anyway do you think that they still go after Modric or another midfielder after they signed Romeu?

Yes, but I don't think he will be a blue until at least January.

I don't have a favorite EPL team, but I like several of them. I just love the different rivalries and the hate in the cross-town derbys. Kinda reminds me of SEC football because of how passionate and competitive the games are.

The problem with Arsenal, is they always try to walk it in.

I see more the Man U-Yankees comparison in more terms of profit and popularity.

Im going on the merchandising factor. People who could care less about baseball know the yankees wear yankee hats. people dont know shite about soccer know manu wear manu stuff.

Love simmons, but I generally try to look for my soccer expertise elsewhere.

I just think it is a good Americanized version of EPL team descriptions that may be a little easier to relate to. That is why I suggest it.

Frank Simek. Look him up. He's the only American to ever play for Arsenal.

Simek was second to sign a full contract.
