Edinson Cavani: "Real Madrid is Luis Suárez's dream club"

Uruguay star Edinson Cavani has declared that international colleague Luis Suárez sees Real Madrid as his “dream club”.
In comments published in the Daily Mail, Cavani praised the 26-year-old, who recently returned to action for Premier League club Liverpool after a 10-game ban.
“It is no surprise to me at all that Luis has come back for Liverpool and is scoring goals right away,” he said. “He is the most complete striker in England - and one of the most complete strikers in the world.”
The Paris Saint-Germain player continued: “Ability and confidence is no issue for him, he will score a lot of goals this season I am sure.”
Suárez had stated his desire for a move away from Liverpool during the summer, but saw a move to Arsenal blocked by the Anfield club. Cavani commented: “I am sure the Liverpool fans are very happy Luis stayed - he will be a big player for them. I think Arsenal was not Luis's dream move”.
Alluding to Real’s summer signing of Gareth Bale, Cavani added: “Maybe if it had been Real Madrid then it would have been a different outcome - but of course Madrid were concentrating on a different target this summer.”
He concluded: “It [Real Madrid] is his dream club - and a club he thinks is worth waiting for.”
The Daily Mail reports that, having already completed a big-money move for Bale, Real Madrid were not prepared to pay Liverpool’s asking price of £55 million (65 million euros). Were ‘Los Blancos’ to make a move for Suárez in January, Liverpool would seek the same fee.
According to the British newspaper, Suárez remains interested in a move to Madrid (with agent Pere Guardiola also in favour of the deal), although Arsenal could make another attempt to sign the forward.

I agree... just keep banging in the goals..
January is definitely a seller's market... It would be nice to have a World Class, non cup-tied striker to put in the shop window...

would be absolutely shocked if you guys sold him in January. only way i wouldn't be if Real offered an obscene sum.

Would not be surprised if Liverpool targeted Diego Costa as a replacement if Suarez goes. Which would be in Real's interest considering Atletico's form.

Next summer? If he plays in the WC for Brazil or Spain his stock probably wouldn't be higher. Atletico would be mad not to sell if they get a good offer.

maybe. i guess i don't know what their position is. unless they're in financial trouble (which they very well may be), would be less incentive to break up a team that looks like a real threat to Real and Barca in La Liga and possibly a dark horse to advance deep in the CL. also, Costa may not want to leave Spain.

Most likely baseless conjecture but, if true, it blows me away that they would not only overpay like that for Bale but also miss on Suarez due to it as well.
Real has missed a #9 of the caliber to which they aspire and that is/was about all.
Suarez would make Real better in way that Bale never will, especially under the added pressure of that absurd transfer fee.

Yeah. I assume they'll get Falcao. I've always thought his move to Monaco was "groundwork" for a move to Real. However, I think what was in it for Monaco would be using him to qualify for a CL spot and then signing someone else. So, it may be a move that doesn't happen until the summer unless they really open a gap or have a replacement.
Emmanuel Rivière has been excellent for them so I guess it's possible though.

Athletico always needs money. They have a shite ton of debt. If they scout well they can continue to build a good team, but I wouldn't hesitant to sell Costa or Koke. He'll I'd love for Wenger to bid on Koke. He's been a damn good player these first two months. Both those players are easily worth upwards of 20mil.
