I really have no idea either way and maybe it is much more common than I realize. I just thought it looked funny in a sea of team related scarves.
I couldn't imagine owning a scarf commemorating the wedding of [insert some remotely applicable couple], let alone wearing it to an athletic event.

My Buddy just got finished playing semi-pro football (4 downs) in Germany...his cousins' Freak Johnson...loved it, perhaps left 9 month prezzie bombs there...
