Its pretty clear that Altidore and the EPL dont match, I dont know if its the style or what but he would be best suited to dropping down quality wise.
Holland is that sort of place, strikers thrive there, maybe France would be good for him. A 2nd tier Euro league is the best place for him, he's still 24 so really he shouldn't need developing he should be going into his peak, so he needs to find the right level for him competition wise. Its not a case of playing against better players will help him learn anymore, now its about finding that right level where you improve by playing well.

He's 24. Of course he needs development. Target strikers don't really peak development-wise until later.

I think I worded it pretty badly. What i meant is that at 24 his development should be coming from playing well not from learning from playing against significantly better players but playing poorly.

I agree. I don't think England is the right place to work on his development.
