Do you think Pulisic making it big at a young age willl have a trickle down effect?

In terms of younger US players looking at him and seeing a 17-18 year old making it early. It's got to be a new type of motivation for our young guys and has to be setting a new bar.

I certainly think so. The Bundesliga has been great to American players in the last few decades. Pulisic has set the bar for young American players, and LD has said Christian is far ahead of where he was at 18.
When you look at the makeup of our youth national teams (U17-U20), almost all of those kids are either MLS academy products or guys that were swooped up by European clubs at a young age. It's a trend I want to see continue. MLS academies are getting better each year.

Depends on if he can sustain this and become a household name in Europe. Not only would it give young Americans in our youth academies a poster child to look up to, but it would also help lessen "Americans aren't good at football" stigma in Europe.

I think the big thing as far as growth is showing the youth that you can make just as much money in soccer as football or baseball. The driving force in most cases of young athletes working harder to be the best is the prospect of making a lot of money. And the more young people who realize this the better. I think Pulisic is only the beginning.

This is the right answer. There will always be kids like Pulisic that are groomed by good soccer parents and have the talent and everything else to make it pretty big. A problem here is that Pulisic and others like him are more rare. Look at the numbers. We've produced one so far as a nation
Our success rate is pretty poor. A huge chunk of America's best athletes come from poverty ridden areas where sports is a quick way for young dudes to get out of a shitty situation. And just as soccer stardom is the answer for a top tier athletic talent looking for money and a better life in Europe. the clear answers are in America are football and basketball.
