Do you think John Brooks gets a call from a big club after this tournament.

Without any knowledge of his contract with Hertha, I imagine his release clause is probably quite low.

He is young, obviously maturing and developing. Great height and athleticism. His distribution needs work but from I understand it was quite good with Hertha this season.

I have said this to a couple of posters on here and various other USMNT fans that I believe he is well on his way to being a defensive talisman a la Godin, Ramos, and Boateng. Obviously still has a ways to go, but future looks bright.

What does the SB think? And, apologies for the long post, its been a while since I have posted.

He has a contract until 2019 so I think Hertha would have to receive a pretty hefty offer if they're going to cash in, think somewhere in the 15 million Euro range.

I am usually very reserved about these sort of discussions. I get it, but he really looked good. I don't recall a better defensive performance from a CB in a long time. Of course, lets consider the competition, but I have to give credit where it is due.

He was out of favor for a little while bc he was being pretty immature, but he also wasn't playing at a super high level. He needs to stay for another year or two starting 30 games a year.

He probably needs another season of this level of play before it happens.

I could see Dortmund maybe taking a look see with the departure of Hummels. Not sure of their plans with their CB rotation.

i think a more natural career arc would be for him to stay at hertha berlin, help get them into the champs league. prove this copa isnt a fluke, lock his spot down for the usmnt heading into Russia, and hopefully have a good cup and get that big transfer right around age 25.

Dude has transformed in two years. He looks much older than 23 now.

Still doesn't look as old as A'shawn Robinson.

I think he needs another solid season at Hertha Berlin before the big boys come calling. I'm pleased with his development -- athletically & tactically -- but he appears rather clumsy on the ball.

Mamadou Sakho looks like a camel on roller skates on the pitch and it hasn't stopped him
