No, he wasn't a Dortmund fan, he was in their academy. He had Bayern Munich sheets on his bed until he was a teenager even though he was in Dortmund's youth setup at like 9.

Hendo, who,if any of your "star" players do you see leaving this summer?
I hear the Kroos rumors.. anyone else?

thats like kids liking the Yankees or cowboys before they hit an age of understanding. He grew up in Dortmund. Young kids here all love Bayern.

Doubt Kroos leaves to be honest. We're working on an extension with Robben and Pep loves him.
Most likely to leave? Shaqiri probably.

Reporter: “Is it true that Mario is a secret Bayern fan?”
Grandfather:” Yes. He has slept earlier in Bayern bedclothes. Exactly like his brothers Fabian and Felix who plays with the BVB in the D youth
Also his first coach:
…Also Helmut Albat was surprised. He was the first, who discovered Götzes talent. Albat coached the forward in 1997 at Götzes very first club - as a five-year-old in the youth of the SC Rosenberg in the Allgäu. At that time Götzes family still lived in Memmingen and little Mario trained with the team of his older brother Fabian…….
“Once I was for a game in Dortmund and have spent the night with Götze´s family. At that time Mario was about twelve and has still slept in Bayern bedclothes.”
That interview with his grandfather was from 2011

They said they wouldn't rule it out, not that they're actively pursuing him.

yeah, he's the kinda player I see us going after and would fit great in our system...
although, he will probably have a great deal of suitors this summer... I dont even know if the Swiss qualified for the WC?!?!
I'd also like to pluck his international teamate out of the Bundesliga... Ricardo Rodriguez..

Switzerland is in the WC. I also like Granit Xhaka but he's a bit of a douche

I'm not. cwill posts the same arguments word for word found on other sites.
I read SBI, which doesn't cover the bundesliga, and the SB. So by that logic I guess most people here agree with my sentiments regarding the bundesliga being a one team league.
I'm saying basically the same thing as other posters here, but for some reason my opinions don't count. Ok, cool.

I understand and no one is disputing that the PL is the richest of the leagues and they're only getting richer. My only counter is that the Bundesliga has very structured and effective youth setups which allow teams to continue to compete in cycles. They'll sell those players eventually, either to Bayern or the other top Bundesliga team or abroad and rebuild.
So you admit it's a one team league, possibly 2 team league at best.

I respect your opinion a lot and know that you have a lot of knowledge on the game, so this isn't meant to be derogatory toward you at all.
That's cute. Other, knowledgeable posters again echo the sentiment that the bundelsiga has an issue with disparity and not being attractive to the casual viewer. When I echo these sentiments I'm just repeating from "other sites" that supposedly all have an anti-Bayern bias, while Crazy and Wm respond and you retreat with your tail between your legs. It's funny, actually.
To the Pool posters here, I would absolutely put y'all as the most attractive side in England this season. I prefer watching y'all to Arsenal, as sad as that may sound. If we still had Theo and Ramsey healthy that might not be the case, but as of now y'all are really, really fun to watch.

It will be real interesting to see what happens to Brazilian players after the WC. The league has had lots of money poured into it by big TV contracts, and that could limit the movement of some Brazilians overseas, which will make for an interesting situation.

You're not very well versed on many things but always very open to giving your opinion.

No, it's just not an established 4 teams. It's an established 1 team with a rotating door of other teams, it's not the same thing at all.

Is that what you got from this? Their points were different from what you said.
You said "herpa derp Bayern buys all da players"
The general consensus is that other Bundesliga teams will have a hard time ever being consistently great, partly because of Bayern and partly because of the money that teams in other leagues have. The money disparity has grown and will grow larger because of television deals. Again, where did I say that's not true? I didn't deny anything they said because they actually know what they're talking about. Dortmund may have missed their chance to stay as an established power and part of it is Bayern but those guys were leaving anyway because, like crazy and wm pointed out, there's more money elsewhere and becuase Dortmund has been pretty cheap.
There isn't a problem with disparity in terms of winning the league and that's backed up by facts.
I do disagree with crazy when he says that he thinks more than half of Germany's squad will come from outside of Germany by 2018. We'll have to wait and see on that one though.

Ha, just extrapolating. This summer and the next will play a massive part of that. I mean in 2002 no one thought that half of Spain's squad in 2014 could be playing outside of Spain, even with Real and Barca's Spanish core. In 2010 the German team was all German based, in 2014 you have 6 possible WC players playing abroad, 7 if Khedira wasn't injured. That's a massive jump in four years. I wouldn't be surprised if it was 10 by 2016, though that remains unlikely.

Mesut Özil, Per Mertesacker, Miroslav Klose are really the only foreign based locks. Andre Schürrle and Lukas Podolski are pretty certain although Poldi probably should be on the fringes for this year. Poldi, Klose, and Mertesacker won't be there next cycle.
You have to think that Bayern will always have a high number of German players on the team and the young players from around the league. I mean it's possible but I don't think it's highly likely at all.

Gomez won't get a call-up?
Bayern will always have a German core, but they can't be the whole team. Obviously I'm much more pessimistic about the future of the Bundesliga than you are, but I doubt we will ever see a team like the 2010 German squad. Gundogan and Draxler are early targets for Real and Arsenal, and I can definitely see Arsenal among other clubs going after the likes of the Bender twins. I'm pretty sure we are going to target Matthias Ginter as well. I don' t think it's far fetched, since it's already beginning to happen, albeit at a trickle. Teams with money would be silly not to target Germans since the youth set up is world class.

Maybe, he's been hurt, don't really know what kind of shape he's in. I think Max Kruse is a better fit, personally.

Ha, I mean, if Real and Barca can't be the whole Spanish team, there is no way Bayern can be the whole German team.
