Its the Heisman conundrum. The flashy players get all of the credit, but it is much harder to quantify the importance of passing accuracy versus goals scored. One stat directly results in 3 points, the other merely supports that result.

I like watching Bale play and I'd like to have him on my favorite team but I think he definitely gets overrated on the internet because he has some really good games. He's a flashy player and entertaining player. Top 5 in the world? Nah.

That goal today was impressive because of his athleticism but people made it seem like it was Maradona in 86 when it was really just being fast and strong.

A super annoying tendency of these lists. I think Modric has played unbelievably well for Madrid, but because he doesn't score he can't be a top five player? Basically I hate these lists because they ignore my favorite types of players, the DLP.

Makes sense. Unfortunately, Luka was off today. I love watching Modric on Croatia because he demands the ball is always at his feet. It is great to watch him dance for 90 minutes.

We should make separate lists honestly if you want to rank them. Goal scorers, DLP's, wings, etc.

I actually think Wales an qualify for a Euros in Bale and Ramseys career. Those 2 alone are good enough to win games against most european qualifying teams and with the Euros expanding it is being made easier.

I forgot they were adding more teams this time around. Wales has Belgium, Bosnia, Israel, Cyprus, and Andorra in their group. I think they could get 3rd place which puts them in a playoff.

I wonder what will happen with his career when he starts to lose his speed. I wonder the same about Messi and Cron, though. All of these players rely on their speed, but I think Bale would be the one most hurt by not having it.

He's 24, probably doesnt care

Even when these guys lose speed they still only go from elite to very good in that category. He wont be turning into Gareth Barry.

Although I guess a good person to look towards would be Giggs. Made a living of one move - drop the shoulder and run by - then had to adapt as he aged.
