The entire game took place on Beasley's flank. He made a lot of decent efforts, but there were a couple of gaffes. Honestly, that happens when Mexico goes at you like 50 times.

I cannot be too upset with our LB (or anyone) when hold Mexico scoreless at Azteca.

And to add to that he is a winger. That was an extremely strong effort by him tonight.

I just think it's easy to almost immediately forget that we just got a clean sheet with this:

Beasley--Besler---Gonzalez--Cameron

Guzan

Besler and Gonzalez were solid.
Beasley and Cameron played gutsy, but definitely got lucky

I think it's difficult to really judge a defender's performance unless you go back and rewatch a game, but they all seemed pretty good to me. I just loved Beasley's performance because he was out of position and kind of beat up (guys make the most of injuries pretty regularly, but he seemed to have a bit of a hamstring problem which isn't one of those things that players feign).

i didn't think so at all! I thought GAM's runs were the lone bright spots attacking in the second half.

Altidore had a little help, considering the US was attacking much more in the 1st.

GAM was by himself in the second.

Not having jones was a major killer in the mid. We were never able to slow the game down and gain possession.

esp b/c EDU kept giving the ball away, his decline in form the last 2 years has been nuts

What decline in form? Edu's always been supremely mediocre. I thought he was ok tonight, granted my expectations for him are extremely low.

He's just terrible with the ball. Always has been. I was actually surprised by how decent some of his touches were tonight.

I had been wondering for a long time how long it would take for Klinsmann to get DMB back in the squad. Freakin took him long enough.

Wait, so he went to the SPL and his progress completely stagnated? COLOR ME SHOCKED.

Who is MOF?

That's extremely generous.

When has he ever (for club or country) looked like anything more than a serviceable defensive midfielder?

He's just another guy. He's ok.
