This is the last stand for the MLS. Games starting at 7 on FS2.

MLS managers and fans need to start caring about this tournament.

If MLS wants to ever be considered one of the top leagues in the world they need to do something. With these results people will consider League MX as stronger. Also, why would you not want to play in the Club World Cup? LA could've gotten a better draw if they won their last game in the group stage btw.

It doesn't help that the MX teams are in midseason form.

This is a really big issue. It's why teams with long winter breaks in Europe don't do well in the UCL/Europa. MLS should atleast move the start of the season 2 or 3 weeks earlier.

This isn't about MLS teams not caring. Hell, Sporting sold their game out. It's about this being the first week of the season and the gap between qualifying for the CCL and actually playing in it. LA is in the CCL right now because of a Cup they won in 2012. Teams aren't the same a year and a half later.

Sporting KC have stated that their goal is to win the CCL this year. Tonight should be a great game and could go either way. We will see.

Unless we move to a Fall to Spring schedule I'm not sure how else a team like LA qualifies.

There's also the issue of MLS teams not having deep enough rosters to rotate players. Hence why bums like Leonardo have to play, if there's any injury to a stater.

If MLS really wants a team to win the CONCACAF CL they'd up the salary cap to compete with the Mexican clubs.

A little, but mostly just because Toluca hasn't scored yet.

Well their defense has been better. Playing in the altitude sucks for them long term though.

Toluca just missed an relatively easy header on goal.

This all sets up for an Alan Gordon 90'+9 injury time winner.

ETA: SPOKE TOO SOON GOODSON!

ETA ETA: WHO THE HELL IS TY HARDEN!
