Club vs Club friendlarys?

I know, I seem to start like a thread a day but I'm still trying to wrap my ahead around UEFA and European Soccer in general. Was checking out the ADO site for the non-Dutch such as myself and plan on attending their game vs Swansea City on the 13th. I know its a friendly but its the only preseason game at their stadium and apparently have a historical friendship with this team so I'm hoping the atmosphere will be pretty decent.
Check out the 2nd topic down about the match. They've made BFF scarves for the match.

I guess what I'm asking is that is this a normal thing across European soccer? Anyone's team on here have something like this with another team?

Swansea will afford you the chance to see some fairly stylish football, and a 4 or 5 goal loss for your new acquired team.

Its okay. I saw where they finished something like 9-13-12 last season (good for 9th place out of 18 I believe) and how pumped they were to be Ajax a couple of years ago. I'm used to cheering for a team without a lot of historical success.

Bayern has played a bunch of friendlies so far. A lot of them have been amateur teams but they played Brescia today.

Livorno has friendlies with several teams that basically become Marxist rallies.

Yea it's pretty par for the course for the preseason. Some of the bigger clubs will tour a country or region to market themselves and gain international popularity. It's a way to get international fans involved.

Seems like its common. West Ham beat Cork City yesterday I believe and Celtic lost to Greuther Furth 6-2 today.

I understand that, ADO is playing plenty of them. I just mean is it common for 2 teams to be like "historical friends" For God's sake they're selling a scarf at that game that says "Friends Forever" and has both team logos and colors on it.

All I know is that some clubs seem to have partnerships or what-not. I know Tottenham Hotspur either has or had one with the San Jose Earthquakes. I don't know how common it is, though.

My cousin brought me a scarf from the UCL match with Chelsea vs Genk. It's a "friendly" scarf with both teams and crests on it. It was official UCL merch so I just assumed this may be more common than I would have imagined.
