We’re going to need more than one window to fix everything imo. What CB with potential like havertz is a now or never signing like havertz? Market availability has to be a contributing factor to decision making.

And I guess we are done with the Sancho sweepstakes?

With the exception of the Wovles win, the weekend has been good for the Blues. Time to get a W at Villa today.

No reason for Willian to start either given his contract situation. At least RLC and Kante are back now.

If you wanna discuss form, pulisic was better than mount. If you wanna say match fitness, then you can’t defend starting RLC. There’s 0 reason other than homerism here. I get there’s 5 subs but it’s starting off the way it started and it seems puli has to get a hat trick to play again. Shambolic

I think starting mount and RLC together is weird too, they both play in the middle. I agree though, Pulisic is the best winger on this team and it's lame that he is getting shafted on playing time.

It’s close between him and puli. If mount had an assist or goal it would be a no brained. I’d give it to mount, but wouldn’t be surprised if puli, mount, Kante got it

Knocked the rust off today but 3 pts is 3 pts and we have some separation with ManU. Scratched my head with Pulisic on the bench to start but good on Frank to bring him in for a spark. Ditto with Tammy but Frank had a feeling about Olivier and he was proven correct. Big one Thurs night against City.

3 more observations: Mount makes things happen. The black kits are complete garbage and the ugliest kits they’ve ever worn- shame on Nike. Defense is still so shaky- go get Cahill I don’t care if he’s over paid.

Our attack is nice. Mount isn't really the conventional attacking midfielder. I feel like he just makes things happen, not necessarily with lethal passing or anything. I feel great with Mount, Pulisic, Ziyech, Werner, RLC, Giroud Tammy, and CHO next season. Solid attacking options who all provide a lot of different things.

I'm still not sold on Kovacic as our first choice box-to-box sort of guy. I also am obviously not pumped about our CB options.

Im getting PTSD just thinking about Cahill having to hustle and cover anything more than a 5yd area in his own box.

Guy had a taste for goals tho, certainly miss that from a CB.

Watching Cahill defend, at least at the end of his time at Chelsea, was terrifying. He'd just keep backing off players and go for a desperate block at the last second. But yeah, I've pretty much given up all hope on scoring set pieces. When we head Ivanovic, Terry, Cahill, Drogba, etc, I actually expected a lot of set pieces to potentially end up in goals.

Set piece defending was one of Diego Costas most underrated skills too. So many times he would just beast through to head a ball out.

We just havent been a tough, physical side for a few years now.

Pedro and Willian sticking around until the end of the season. Pedro to Roma after.

Can we please properly defend one corner... please.
