I'd rather watch ManUre play the 16th place EPL team than Real Madrid play the 16th place La Liga team.

I'd also rather watch 2 mid table EPL teams than 2 mid table Serie A teams.

That's probably simply due to familiarity more than any judgement on the quality of the teams. Just like most of the fans of other SEC football teams would most likely watch Ole Miss v Vandy instead of Iowa v Northwestern in a matchup of middling teams or Florida v Kentucky instead of Oregon v Wash St in probable mismatches.

I think the problem that people have is that we buy into the English telling us that their league is the only one that matters (not really talking about you here, just making an observation).

It's this. You are right.

hmm this is fun. are we doing our fan allegiance hierarchy or what we'd watch if they were all on tv at the same time?

Liverpool > LSU

I do enjoy watching Liverpool when they are playing other teams at their level, like Stoke and Sunderland.

I'd go with "if on tv at the same time and you don't have a laptop to split screen etc"
