Don´t forget about Tijuana, Miami and Brownsville.
ETA Seriously, Chicago and New York should be good, with proper soccer venues.

I'd agree that they SHOULD be, but they simply aren't.

they need stadiums which are soccer specific, or soccer friendly, don´t they?
I think Chicago is still the biggest Mexican community in the US, and probably the most US as opposed to Mexican, sentimentally wise. It may be the biggest Puerto Rican area in the country, as well.
NYC, you only need one kid of Dominican Republic descent, to have that city ´round your finger.

Agreed with Chicago. The fan base there seems to be pretty rowdy, I just don't understand why it doesn't translate to Fire games. I don't watch MLS, so maybe its because the FIre suck?
As far as NY goes, those people don't strike me as the type to create a Seattle-like atmosphere. For one reason or another, just seems like they wouldn't.

I think the only place that could one-up Seattle is inviting the USMNT to play their next qualifier..... on Saturday night....in Death Valley

If people in LA actually liked soccer I'd agree with you.

also it's so close to the Mexican border we'd have to put a green shirt ban to ensure a partisan crowd

They've been meh since their inception, really. Just middle of the road in attendance and results.
But Mike Magee is tearing it up right now after one of the most unbalanced trades (so far) in MLS history (LA got the rights to Robbie Rogers).

Fire fans say that the problem is that the stadium is a pain in the arse to get to.

Yeah it's out in the suburbs I believe.

Yes until other cities can step up their game. Watching the game played in Seattle on TV was awesome.

mmm we already had this fricking thread
, lets not go overboard. There have been fan bases bringing the noise long before these teams were in the mls
you are kidding yourself if you don't think mexicans wouldn't show up to a stadium that big.
Columbus is perfect for playing them and its gets colder in ohio than seattle

I think in the future anytime we play Mexico in a qualifier at home it should be in Seattle.
no its close enough to cali and there would be a shite load of mexican fans there. they played a gold cup match there and had tons of fans.
just like playing them in chicago is a bad idea

one issue not yet discussed is the artificial turf situation in Seattle. laying down real grass that often would be a pain in the arse, and also the surface itself was a tad suspect. something would have to be done on that front.

This. Also, our permanent Mexico venue (if not Columbus) should be Lincoln, NE. It's an 80,000+ seat stadium, American Outlaws HQ, and no Mexicans for a thousand miles.
