He doesn't go to the ground as easily as the entire Italian team, Cristiano Ronaldo, or Drogba in the box.

He doesn't fake injuries to get people red carded like Fernando Torres

give it a rest. He's a great player but I just don't want to see him become one of those types of players.

What are the odds that Mario Gomez sees any meaningful minutes the rest of the way? He's some kind of terrible.

I absolutely loathe Mario Gomez. He should be behind Cacau and Kiessling in the striker pecking order. I wish we would have taken Kevin Grosskreutz over him, even with the knee surgery. Gomez sucks.

I LOVE HIM AND YOU WON'T DISPARAGE HIS NAME

ahem, um, anyways he doesn't dive like a girl. He gets his arse beat and at times he simulates but even you can admit he plays pretty clean. Or at least as clean as you can expect from a spanish player.

I don't know anything about Grosskreutz...why didn't Frings make the team?

Frings and Low don't get along. I think Khedira is better at this point anyway and Frings is a douche for 2002.

soccer detractors hate on appropriate simulation, but sometimes, you have to let the referee know when you're getting the frick fouled out of you

there are many referees that won't award you shite if you don't go down. i've been there. i've even been told to stay down, or i'd be carded for simulation, wtf? i can't walk shite off?

oh, also, Felipe Melo is a highly underrated force in Brazil's midfield.

and Messi has provdied more assists for shots on target than any player in the tournament thus far (14). not so quiet after all.

Manchester United, Real Madrid, Manchester City, etc. The usual suspects.

Is there any chance this guy stays at Werder Bremen? I'd like to see what they could do in the CL with Ozil. I am pretty sure his contract is up at Werder.

ESPN disagrees with you. They gave awards for group stage performances. Best and Worst from Group Stages

quote:

BEST PLAYER: Lionel Messi, Argentina

It almost seems unfair to give the Little Flea another hood ornament, but Argentina's No. 10 definitely packed his A-game for South Africa. Though he hasn't scored yet (despite launching 20 shots on goal), his corkscrewing runs and seeing-eye passes have terrified defenses into trying to bludgeon him into submission and opened up acres of space for his teammates to notch seven goals in their opening three games. That is tied for most in the tournament to date and helps Diego Maradona look like he actually knows what he's doing.

Messi makes Argentina's heart beat. To say he's had a poor tournament so far would be silly.

it would be retarded, he singlehandedly spreads the field and has created a shite ton of Argentina's opportunities

espn also said this...

MOST DISAPPOINTING TEAM: Pick Anyone From Europe

did they forget spain, netherlands and germany are still and are dominating. so using them as a source is a little crazy
