Interesting. I went to their website and it looks like they have clubs all over the country, including NO and Louisville, in addition to Jackson. Utterly pointless idea since it's pay to play.

Lafreniere, NOSA (I think), CSA, and Lakeview are all under the Chicago Fire name now

I assume that the Fire do it, because they can sign players from those teams to homegrown contracts. They already signed Kellen Gulley from MS

The original Fire Juniors in Illinois were awful at first because they only could recruit newbies who hadn't played for the established clubs. We beat them something like 8-0 and we weren't even one of the top clubs in the state. I assumed it was just a money making, marketing ploy at that time, but if they are starting to recruit talent, then good for them. It's expensive as heck though, certainly keeps them from accessing a good portion of the kids.

I can imagine how expensive being associated with the Fire name would be. I know when I was coming up, Sockers were the best team in my age group from the Chicago area.

Hope this isn't frowned upon for going off track, but I like this discussion.

Ya, the Sockers pinched a couple of our best players. Baggio Husidic (current Galaxy player) was one of them, although he was a couple years older than me. Kirk Urso (who tragically passed) was also on the Sockers and I played on his team for a 3 vs 3 competition.

nah a louisville club name switched from just "united" to "united 1996" a few years ago. basically compete with javanon for everything in louisville/kentucky. i played for them when i was like 8, but then moved to atlanta.

i know what bellarmine is for sure, but left the area when i was young. still familiar with the ville and love the place, though.

I hate the rule too. All yellow cards aren't equal. Sometimes players foul hard on accident because of fatigue or sometimes the ref gives an unwarranted yellow. To get suspended for a whole game is ridiculous.
