Actually, I think I'm right... The US national team always looks the best to me when Donovan runs the left flank and Dempsey holds the ball up high.

The fact that you think Dempsey should play a false nine tells me all I need to know about your knowledge of the game.

No need to get hostile about it as I know many who agree with me.

Best thing Bradley did was find a woman capable of gifting him with Baby. Kid is for real.

Bradley gets his athleticism from his mom. She was a dual-sport DI athlete. I know she played field hockey and was freakishly good at it (like MVP, national championship, etc), but I don't remember her other sport.

I'd still like to see us try it out. Dempsey could definitely handle it, and handle it well. We'd then have to find a wing option to replace him. I like Donovan on the left (so he can cut inside and shoot with his dominant foot), but that leaves the right as a problem. Maybe Stu Holden? But he is so good in the middle of the field that it's hard to put him out wide. Then again, if baby Bradley and Jones can boss the midfield every game like they did against Canada, then I think we can afford to put Holden on the right and use his amazing service to our advantage. Let's face it, in regards to his crosses the dude's like a poor man's David Beckham.

frick the Spain friendly. I don't give a shite about Spain. I give a shite about stomping Mexico and winning our tournament.

So having our best 11 get a game against the best team in the world would have hurt us when we played the best team from Central America in a month?

I think it would have helped.

When you're playing at a pace of a game every 3-4 days, then you don't want to risk fitness and fatigue levels of your starters. I don't want to risk that in a meaningless game when there are tournament results on the line.

Ok, I should have said the best team in CONCACAF, but I can't bring myself to say that.

We tried it for the first 60 minutes of the 2009 Turkey game. You should find it and watch it.

I was fortunate enough to be at the game, and watched him play as a withdrawn striker, and he couldn't get the necessary touches to be involved in the game, without completing fricking up the rest of the team.

Deuce needs touches early in the game to A. get in the flow, and B. attract defensive attention to open the rest of the field up.

What do you propose as his best position, then, if we are to fulfill A and B?

Just leave, dude. You're officially done. You're making me want to defend Bob, and I'm not even really a fan of him.

ETA: Mistook you for the other guy I jumped on. I'm in a particularly crabby mood today. Must be the Cajun Turkey disagreeing with my belly that is causing me to resort to such violent tactics in response to the stupidity I'm reading today. shite, there I go again.

Basically what he's playing now. Having just watched the replay of the Canada game, I'd say we are playing a watered down German style of football, without the Ozil in the hole. Germany generally defends 4-4-2 or 4-4-1-1 any way.

The way we defend is very German, and the Double Six is identical.

Does this mean he'll be eligible to represent Spain if he's good enough to compete internationally? Because if he is, you know he will... Because FML.

I say which ever side has the faster back behind him. He's much less likely to chase back on D than Donovan is.
