So I've heard conflicting reports about Cesc playing this weekend. Latest report though is that he isn't. I was really looking forward to him returning against Birmingham, but if not it sounds like he may be back for Tuesday.

Walcott might see some time as well. Beowulf and Walcott as subs perhaps.

Kos is out. Vermaelen still out. Will Wenger go with Squillaci and Djourou or will Song play CB? Should be an interesting decision. With Sagna out, could be a shakier backline than our normally shaky backline.

My predicted XI would be

Flappyanski
Eboue-Squillaci-Djourou-Clichy
Diaby-Song-Wilshere
Nasri-Chamakh-Arshavin

Of course the return of Fabregas is delayed. Every time they quote an injury time table for a player they end up being out longer than the "expected" time.

Also, anyone who has played FIFA 11 probably has noticed this, but the announcers call Squillaci "Sebastian Inglehart." Oops.

our backline is going to be makeshift, likely to be something like this:
Fabianski
Eboue-Djourou-Squeeeze-Clichy

Cesc will not be fit, though I couldve sworn that he resumed training about a week ago. Damnit. But yeah, at least Beo and Theo should see a return.

Ol' Al Hleb could very well see his old pals tomorrow. Luckily we know he's not a scoring threat. We need a win desperately tomorrow. 1 point out of a possible 9 is unacceptable. Time to turn things around.

also, can anyone speak portuguese?. Wellington Silva continues to blog about life at Arsenal. You don't need a translation to know that he fricking loves giving the thumbs up.

Hello, everyone! I'm going back to Brazil today and this was the second time I was in England. In my first phase of adaptation to the country, met Denilson, the Brazilian midfielder who left Sao Paulo to Arsenal and cam with 18 years of age. Today , he adds four seasons for the Gunners. Due to this new period of training, I Had The Opportunity to meet him. Had Already Said That I Could Go to his house, When I Had some time off. Even while I played there the futebolzinho . Certainly, I made one more friend in my life. I Hope that in return, we still great friends. It's time to say farewell to Europe. The adjustment period to Arsenal Greatly Helped in the evolution of my football. I Learned Many Things That I Can take a lifetime. Now I am ready to return to Fluminense. My greatest desire now is to step up and help the Tri Achieve Their goals this season. I want to thank everyone who Helped me here in Europe And Also Those Who Followed this diary. Thanks!

Translated.

sweet, thanks. man I'm glad we bagged him up... he's supposed to be a MFin monster, and should be eligible for first team play in January, I believe.

There are a lot of rumors swirling that we got the new Drogba, Romelu Lukaku. Kids 6-3, around 215 pounds, and is supposedly a beast.

It's gonna suck being Wilshere-less for 3 PL matches. This could really hurt his ability to get game time. With all the interchangeable parts in our MF it's pretty much who's playing best at the time will get PT and Wilshere was certainly either our best or 2nd best player today. Tough to see him overtaking Nasri or Diaby on the sidelines.

What do you all think AW should do with Arshavin? He's having a pretty poor year so far I think. If he was playing half way decent he might already have 10 goals this year. Is it time to bench him or should we hold onto hope that those little magic-filled boots will put it together?

I think Arshavin would be great as a sub. Bring him on around the 70th minute and tell him to wreak havoc.

With both Fabregas and Rosicky healthy losing Wilshere for a few matches won't be terrible. Rosicky has played the distributive midfield role quite well this season despite his outrageous attempts on goal. Wilshere can also start and feature in our upcoming Champions League matches without being subbed off for fitness reasons.

Yeah I more meant its bad for Wilshere and his development. And I would have liked to have him for Man City.

I thought Wilshere deserved to be sent off. If someone else tackled a Gunner that way, I would be furious about it. I feel like it was retribution for Zigic giving him a forearm to the face 5 mins earlier.

Oh he absolutely deserved the red, I'm not denying that.

Not to complain too much because a win is a win, (ok I'm in a bad mood because UF sucks), but today's game was depressing because it typified our impotence in attack. We could have easily scored 5, 6, 7 goals but instead we always try to walk it into the net. So instead of a comfortable win we have to sweat out a result which is not fun with our horrible defense.

I don't know how good you can expect the offense to be without Cesc, Van Persie, and Theo. The return of Beowulf will be nice, but he basically does the same thing as Chamakh.

Every member of our midfield and attacking group today is a full international. I expect them to take advantage of their opportunities.
