whoa, cool, a cesc meme?!

pics of reserves keeper James Shea training with the ENT, Joe Hart, etc.

contract offered to japanese international Miyachi @YoungGunsBlog Japanese journalism is amazing. They say Miyaichi is 183 cm tall, 70 kg in weight, and Blood type O.

The longest run of consecutive league games played by Robin van Persie in his Arsenal career is just 14.

4 - Theo Walcott has bettered his Premier League goal tally of 3 from last season in just 117 mins of action this season.

Arsenal seem to be out of a deal for Schwarzer. Wtf. La tristesse durera.

I'm going to cry.

I just set my desktop background to Beowulf in a celebratory rage after scoring to beat Hull City.

whew...it's okay guys, Nicky B is doing fine, and so is Nasri. from a similar article, by john cross: "Nasri is back in training, looking sharp and is hoping to be fit for Arsenal's next game against Bolton on September 11."

Arsenal have seven full internationals named their Premier League Under 21 squad. Amazing: Szczesny, Gibbs, Wilshere, Ramsey, Galindo, Walcott, Vela. [via youngguns]

sort of depressing but informative article on our GK sitchee-ation the past few months: LINK
quote:

You simply cannot win trophies without a top class keeper. Arsenal last won the Premier League in 2004 when Jens Lehmann went through the whole league season unbeaten.

The following season, Lehmann was the FA Cup final hero in the penalty shoot-out as Arsenal beat Manchester United.

The following season, Lehmann was dropped, Almunia began to get more games and Arsenal have not won a trophy since.

some more official Arsenal accounts:
squillaci, walcott, ramsey, wilshere, arshavin, chamakh

**bonus** mario swagotelli

**lesser bonus, maybe not even qualified to be called a bonus at all** former Blackpool to Arsenal to Real Madrid groundsman gives us his curriculum vitae

I liked Balotelli's twitter. He somehow seems more sincere than he usually appears.

From a guy who hardly will play, and who's team isn't sitting top of the table. Just how dumb can he get.

Here's a fun idea. Let's rank our favorite Gunners (current players).

thenry:

1. Beowulf

2. Andy Man Arshavin

3. Captain Cesc

4. Big Alex Song

5. Diamond Jack Wilshire for his sweet arm tatts and his effeminate dog twitter picture

6. Nasty Nasri for looking like a 12 year old while pwning Porto noobs.

7. Bacary Sagna for being the most interesting man in the world.

8. Theo

9. RVP: He is only this low because of his Dutch brittle genes.

10. Aaron Ramsey

11. Tomas Rosicky: I'm glad to see him back at full fitness.

Low 5:

1. Chamakh: He's like a bad hair version of Beowulf with none of the personality.

2. Vela based on nationality alone

3. Flubianski:

4. Eboue, although his swag dances with Arshavin make up for his constant diving.

5. Denilson: I'm not sure what exactly he brings to the table.

1. Cesc (stock steady)

2. Ramsey (stock was on the rise, stalled due to injury, but I have to support my Welsh brethren)

3. RvP (as classy a player as there is out there when healthy. His volley against Charlton will always be my favorite goal)

4. Arshavin (stock down due to repeated "meh" performances)

5. Vermaelen (I think generally Arsenal fans overrate his ability at CB because he scores goals so well, but as a footballer he is world class. If we had more CBs I'd kinda like to see him in the midfield just once or twice so he could let a few more of those sweet, sweet left-boot shots fly, but alas)

Low 5

1. Fabianski

2. Almethia

Actually that's about it. Eboue has turned into a good player. Chamakh has stupid hair but is a very classy player who fits our system nicely. I sometimes wonder what Denilson does too, but he is extremely good at recycling possession and is worth a nice long range goal every now and then.

Ryan Shawcross fires back at Wenger, thinks Wenger has something against him. Well Ryan, he does. It's called you shattered the leg of one of our brightest prospects and you play in an overall reckless fashion.

I don't think Shawcross is a reckless player, but his team grudge fouls someone in every game.

top 5:
beowulf
cesc
song
nasri
sagna (affinity for no.3 right backs)

lowlights:
'manuel 'munia
'ucas' 'abianski (doesnt quite have the same ring to it)

also, frick, rvp is likely to be out till mid-october. i'm finding it hard to even be sarcastic/ironic in order to spin this as merrily as possible. he just never stops getting hurt, gaddamnit.
