Hmmm, Pool lacked creativity. They had the opportunity to make their own chances but instead squandered away possession once they got close to the box for the most part. That is, until their substitutions.

Kuyt did well winning the ball and challenging Arsenal's defenders, more so than Carroll, but he really didn't make anything of it once he latched on to the ball.

I really think Wilshere will be the key to you guys staying in the top 4 fight this year.

I'm not saying Gunners didn't play d, they did a great job. like BMac said, Carroll is fricking stupid. He held up play all day. Adams did terrible. I'll give more credit to Arsenal for that than he did, but at the end of the day, it was a waiting game for Pool to score. Arsenal never looked threatening, besides a 5 minute fun in Pool's half

The Sounders need a draw in at least one Timbers-Whitecaps match so we can make sure to get the Cascadia Cup.

I really really really really hope Nasri goes so we don't have to play him centrally

Hahah, I posted a bit ago in the club thread asking if once Wilshere comes back does Wenger move Nasri back out wide or does Ramsey get shafted.

which is 100% his MO

it's why I think he's so dangerous when paired with Suarez because they both work their asses off and Kuyt is perfectly happy just trying to being a pest for someone else to work off of

Wilshere from deep dictating play is important. All three games this year teams pressed us, and we had no one who could break the press as it were. Wilshere at DLP and Ramsey at AM looked really good in the preseason. If we can get some games at full strength, we could be excellent.

I'm glad someone else likes Kuyt. He's one of my favorite EPL players

Oh no, the match was decided, either Pool get the W or Arsenal scraps out a point with some ugly hard/gritty play, that or a fluke/dumb move at the back from Pool resulting in an Arsenal goal.

Just that it was what it was. Carroll and Adam did what they did resulting in Pool not being able to truly dominate. They had plenty of chances to do so, but just had some horrid individual play holding them back.

considering we had a makeshift team teeming with young blood, it's arguable that we were the better side relative to the experience, depth, and cash-spent side we went up against. I think Kelly was the only non first teamer. edit: forgot about Gerrard.

I'm far away from the doom and gloom talk 2 games into the season and 10 days left in the transfer window. but our champions league chances are at a severe deficit. no denying that

I feel pretty comfortable in saying Liverpool would not have scored if Suarez hadn't come in. They were utter shite before that. If they were better than Arsenal before that point it was marginal.

And watching Arsenal cross the ball into the box is like watching an incredibly depressing movie. My favorite part is how Van Persie refuses to actually try to move towards the ball.

It's really infuriating.

Atleast you guys didn't spend a ton of money to have lackluster performances.

It's his spot to lose. He was just lacking match fitness, just had a small injury that couldn't be compromised. Your squad should have him in next week, I think.

there are very few premier league 11s that would run through that particular arsenal side as visitors
