Indeed. I'm a fan. Footnotes FTW.*

*Currently writing a paper where I already have 53 footnotes and I'm not even close to being done.

I don't get it.

So have we been linked to anyone in January? We aren't getting Hazard, that seems certain.

nobody gets it, but it's provocative

haven't been paying attention to the transfer news, I unfollowed almost every Arsenal blogger because I got steeped into information/opinion overkill. The only guy I saw linked recently was, coincidentally, OM's André Ayew.

Few links I've seen recently are Goetze, Granero, Reus, Vertonghen.

To be clear those are just the most frequent rumors I've seen. As is always true, no one has a clue.

I hope to sweet god that we buy someone. We have to make a big purchase. Maybe another creative midfielder, which would help Ramsey in the center, and eventually replace Rosicky. Granero would be nice. I'd also like to get a striker.

you guys forgot that Wilshere coming back is a new signing so we won't buy anyone.

Yeah, if Wenger touts that line that would be severely annoying. I'd also like to sell Squillaci, Diaby, Almunia, and some other players to free up some wage space. I don't think Diaby will ever make it here. Vela won't make it here either. I'm already going to guess that Wellington won't make it as well.

The article I read said that Granero was a Diaby replacement because he suffered an injury setback. Never been able to fully recover since his horrific injury. His injury record since that is ridiculous. Another reason to be thankful about Ramsey.

Also we screwed up terribly sending Wellington on loan to Levante the past two years. I don't get that.

Even then, he's had fewer good games than Denilson did in his time here. The problem was that he wanted to play right behind the striker, like Nasri, but Wenger saw correctly that he would be a stud deeper in midfield. I'm also not sure the injury had anything to do with his inability to release passes at the correct time, as he more than more of our players took too many touches, or his average tackling ability. Perhaps it could be a confidence issue related to the injury, but even in his best season, 09-10, he had the same problems he always had. Maybe I'm being too harsh though.

Well, not in that he will get a work permit very soon. Wellington's problem relates entirely to his attitude.

I always wanted Diaby to do well at Arsenal, maybe more than any other talent. His best dribbles were things of subtle wizardry and some of his long range thru balls were boner-inducing. Of course his attitude was usually poor and his form drastically inconsistent. On top of that he has a Sisyphean case of physical hardship. Poor bastard.

He had really great technique. He created space for himself in really brilliant ways.

He was a fairly inconsistent passer in general though. He had his share of boner jams though.

This is pretty important. His outburst against Van Persie in the Blackpool game had to have sealed his fate.

It has been brought to my attention of some ridiculous allegations concerning my celebration of one of my goals. It is totally ludicrous to suggest that my action of brushing my shoulder could be construed as anything else but a showing of joy and celebration. To suggest this meant anything to the contrary is insulting and absolutely absurd as nothing else came into my mind

Come the frick on.

Do you really think it was the Nazi salute?

I don't know what it was, but I do know that it wasn't brushing his shoulder off.

It did come off as a hilariously dorky celebration, like he didn't know how to celebrate. Reminded me of Robben's celebration of his goal against Man U in the UCL.
