According to this guy we are being bitches about this whole Cesc ordeal and holding off until Monday for the deal to become official. I'm getting fed up with all this fricking waiting. Numerous opportunities have come and gone this summer because we held out for a couple million more euros. I don't know if it will be worth it in the end. Mata isn't going to be sold now apparently. I've got a bad feeling about this year.

I actually don't see a problem with waiting till Monday. It'll give us the weekend to find a better replacement than Jadson.

ETA: I meant the last part as a joke.

As long as it isn't the LeBron effect, I'll be happy.

Nah. We still have good players. We'll see what happens. We're going to have to change the way we play though, which will actually be fine by me.

Yeah true. I know I sound pessimistic all the time, but in truth I'm pumped for the season to start. In large part because who knows what the hell is going to happen. What better place to start the season than at Newcastle to exorcise the demons of last season?

Think Walcott gets a shot at striker this season?

Jadson looks fine as a player in the team, but just for the sake of morale among fans and reputation you would think we would sign a name player like Mata if we're losing Cesc and Nasri. Im probably wrong though.

Mata is going nowhere, according to the Spanish press, the turmoil at Arsenal worries him and his entourage.

He also was offered a passelful of money from Tottenham, and turned it down.

He just re-signed, with a raise, at Valencia.

Gracias. We should be used to such disappointment by now, but each new instance still hurts.

Arsenal didn't look too ambitious - Walcott may not be fit, but by now he should be doing much better off the bench.

Pretty poor performance, and sets the tone for what seems to be another disappointing year.

What is the word on the XI for next weekend? Will Wilshere or Walcott play?

That depends on who gets hurt Tuesday.

Walcott pretty much has to start with Gervinho out. Don't think there's been any updates on Wilshere.

Here is where it'd be really nice to have a legit backup striker. RvP isn't going to play 3 games in 7 days, but which of these next two do you start Chamakh in?

I am just beginning to give soccer a serious effort to become a fan. I like the game. In fact I watched most of yesterday's game with Arsenal fans.

Tell, me, is it Arsenal's secret strategy to have an incredible number of possessions without putting it in the goal? If so, they're pretty good at it.

One of the most tired cliches of the last 10 years is that Arsenal "walk the ball into the net" i.e. pass it to death until there is a wide open chance. Sometimes it's true but it's annoying when it's not and is used as a default criticism.

But your observation is correct. Possession is supreme for Wenger-ball
