at what point does something have to happen for these guys? I get their philosophy and it's fun to watch their young guys become stars, but at some point you have to supplement them right?

No central defenders, no goalie, last year with no forwards...what is their deal?

It'll all make sense when the Gunners get the quadruple(quatro? grand slam?)

We're fine in goal now IMO, but we definitely could have used a defender. Wenger has some obsession with not "squashing" talent. Yeah if we bought someone we would have new additon, plus Koscielny, Djourou, and Verm and have a lot of options, but he just runs away from that situation. I think a logjam of talent is his greatest fear or something. If whoever gets left out isn't happy, great let them leave. All I wanted was someone better than Squillaci.

I mean I can understand where he is coming from, but we are so close this year I can't believe we are going to risk it based on the poor health of our CB's.

False. Djouro and Koscienly are a good pairing. The big problem is the Nasri injury. Sczzesny has proven himself in goal. We sit second in the table now and ManU has to face Chelsea twice. I really like our position.

I agree, but until Vermaelen comes back, anything else at CB is scary. It's a risk.

Who has better players under twenty-five right now? The answer is no one in world football. The team makes money even with massive stadium debt. Arsenal should be a model of any sporting franchise. The trophy bullshite will end this season for sure.

I'm not doubting any of that but that's still not to say that they couldn't use some reinforcements from time to time.

And if you're considering the Carling Cup or the FA cup as your trophies that you're happy with now, then fine.

People are just tired of hearing Arsenal haven't won a trophy since 2005. It gets old. It's reaching Herman Johnson was the largest baby in LA history status.

Hazard in the summer and sell Arshavin back to Russia. ManU and Arsenal are among the best run franchises in the world. We actually make money.

Shocking.

I do. But, the PL is within grasp. ManU is the bookies favorite and Arsenal are second. No Nasri and Vermaelen sucks against Barca in the CL.
But, considering the lapse of time between trophies I'll take one anytime.

tons and tons of sports teams make money, Arsenal isn't alone in that. And what is the difference between Arsenal and United is what?

I mean I'm not trying to be a dick here at all, rather just asking the question why does Arsenal refuse to spend when at times it seems necessary?

Because is it really necessary? Cesc appears to be gone for atleast 35mm pounds. I like our chances after that. The franchise is run in the right manner. No "big club" is run better in all of world football. That is blatantly obvious.

stop saying franchise . Sorry but it's a pet peeve of mine for some reason.

being a well run club is nice and all, but so is winning. There is a mix between the two that they can find, but it definitely seems like they don't always chase the winning side.

If Andy Carroll went to Anfield for that amount Arsenal should hold out for 50mm for Cesc. What a fricking joke. Pool would have been better off buying Ada Turan for 20mm.

I'd have liked a CB but only on loan, and I guess we couldn't find anyone. Besides that, I'm absolutely fine. If we were sucking this year I might understand this thread, but we're alive in all competitions and have ManU at home in the PL. Barring more freak injuries like Nasri, we'll have a chance to win multiple trophies this season and are well set up for the future.

we'll go hard after Turan or Hazard in the summer, that's for sure.

Also, Carroll is that price because it's Jan 31st, and he's English (huge cause of inflation). These numbers don't happen in a vacuum, there's reasons behind some of them.

All Arsenal. Nice try.

Nice over buy when you could have had Llorente for 10mm cheaper. Who is better and a much greater value. Carroll was a panic buy and I hope it works out because I hate Chelsea.
