I hate to say it but we are never really going to compete with the likes of man city, Chelsea, Man U, or Liverpool even, until our ownership group changes.

We basically have to have a perfect academy and perfect recruitment in order to compete for the PL and CL.

Emi's Goodbye Message

Sucks to see him go, but he deserves his chance to be the number 1 somewhere. 11 years is a long time to wait for your opportunity.

*Edited with a longer version of the interview.

Honestly, I would have rolled with him until he fricked up. But we need the money, I guess. He hasn't put a foot wrong, and his distribution has been the best out of any Arsenal keeper for a long time. He commands the area well, and has superb reflexes. I think he is marginally better than Leno by virtue of his distribution, but Leno has a longer, more consistent history. I wish we put our trust in him earlier, but we've had bad goalkeeping coaching for years under Wenger. Maybe Martinez's progression is due to Inaki Cana.

I really think Leno is a noticeable step down in terms of his long-kicking, but hopefully that can improve, especially if Cana helped Martinez improve in that aspect.

Exclusive: Brentford have rejected a bid of around £10m from Arsenal for goalkeeper David Raya. #AFC are still keen on signing Raya despite the imminent arrival of Rúnarsson. #BrentfordFC will only consider selling if Raya is loaned back for the season.
Not sure what they are trying to do with the backup keeper situation.

I don’t know that Runarsson is the answer, but I’d buy Raya and loan him back in a heartbeat

Aouar definitely looks like it will be happening. If it’s true that simeone called torreira then we could sell him there for €30m and hopefully have enough for partey

Tierney injured in warm ups. Kolasinac will take his place.

Last match more than half the attack/service started with Tierney. This is a huge loss, and that isn't even mentioning how incapable Kola is at actually defending.

Apparently its the hip/groin injury he had at the start of last year, from when he came from Celtic and had to miss a good chunk of the beginning of the season. Definitely a cause for concern there.

Nice goal but the team looks sloppy as heck out there. So many poor/missed passes from nearly every player. West Ham aren't even really pressing or forcing them into bad passes, and yet Arsenal are struggling to string a few together. Willian in particular has been way off compared to last week.

noticed the sloppiness too..reminiscent of last few years

Bellerin is useless going forward and he doesn’t look very fast anymore
